Akstein Eye Center is led by a physician who earned his medical degree from the State University of Rio de Janeiro School of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency at Emory University School of Medicine. He pursued a fellowship in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous, and also studied refractive surgery with Dr. Charles Casebeer. The center provides care related to retinal and vitreous conditions and microscopic refractive surgical procedures.

I have been following Dr. Akstein since 1985 when he began treating my father. He is an incredibly talented physician. He is caring, attentive, compassionate, and provides the upmost quality medical care. I have seen other physicians over the years, but only because I was forced due to insurance. Each and every time I come running back to Dr. Akstein. There are other physicians in my area, but I drive 30 miles to see him. There is no one I trust more than him.

I have been a patient for about six years. Dr Akstein takes the time to explain exactly what is going on with my eyes. He did several laser treatments on one of my eye and while I was away from Atlanta and had to see another opthalmologist … More

I called the McDonough office to make an appointment. I was given an appointment alright, in Riverdale. I was not told that the appointment was in Riverdale. I learned that when questioning the receptionist. Presently unimpressed. More later.-
