My first experience at the Bend location of America’s Best was fantastic from start to finish. Every single person I encountered was friendly and professional. From the receptionist to the assistant, to the doctor, and finishing up the frame options and fitting. Kenda was particularly lovely. Definitely my new go-to place for eye care in Central Oregon. Side note: I also happen to know they were short staffed on this particular day, and they were still nothing but efficient and kind!

I was at first extremely pleased with the office, they were able to get me in for an eye exam that I was overdue for within days rather than months. The wait wasn't long and the doctor was great. My problem is with what could potentially be a scam by the front office in regards to insurance. I presented my insurance card and information at the beginning, after my exam they told me that after 3 people working on it, no one was able to pull my insurance. I got it, I paid out of pocket for my exam and a box of contacts. I'm now going through the process of trying to get reimbursed from my insurance company. Within a couple of days my mom went in with the same insurance, they told her the same thing, they couldn't find it. Within minutes they found and were able to verify her insurance no problem. So she had a $25 copay and I footed an almost $200 bill because I was too nice and believed that they'd tried to do their job. Doesn't matter how fast they can get you in if you end up paying so much more.

I had an amazing experience at my appointment the other day! Dr. Oebker was kind and took his time explaining things and answering all of my questions, an experience I've never had before at an eye appointment. Then I finished my appointment with Holly, who was awesome. We had a great conversation and she helped me get everything figured out for future appointments and purchases without making me feel pressured at all. Far and away the best experience I've ever had at an America's Best!
