First, I’d like to say how wonderful the office staff was to me and my senior golden retriever. I received excellent instructions about the office, parking, etc. They are very transparent about the pricing, and I was actually surprised how reasonable the final bill was including the various medications. Second, Dr. Powell is awesome! She is so relaxed and doesn’t rush. She really wanted to hear about my dog, and this helped us feel more at ease. Dr. Powell knows her stuff when it comes to veterinary eye care and helped me to understand what the issue was for my dog. Dr. Powell is also very knowledgeable about a holistic approach to daily care and made a few recommendations which I immediately began that day. I feel very fortunate to have my dog cared for by Dr. Powell and the office team. My dog’s eye is so much better, and I feel so appreciative that he’s doing well.

Dr. Powell and her staff are fantastic and I highly recommend them. The staff is very friendly, creating an almost family feel, and Dr. Powell is an absolute expert when it comes to eye issues. She knows how to explain it for the layman, which is extremely helpful. My piece of advice, if given the option between the collagen drops and the more costly stem cell drops is to bite the bullet and get the stem cell drops. It just works exponentially faster.

Please avoid this place if you care about your animal. When I first walked in I was told where I could sit and then waited for the doctor. The doctor came out and sat across from me in the lobby and asked about prior medical history and then took my cat back and I wasn’t allowed to be with him. Within 1 minute she came back with a told me my cat was too aggressive to complete the exam. Please keep in mind I’ve never have had a vet EVER tell me that he’s aggressive during a visit it’s always been he’s the nicest. She said she was able to see the eyeball and its components and it was fine, all in under 1 minute? But she would need to see him again but under mild sedation. When my cat was brought back to me he was calm as could be and just laid in his carrier. Then she pulled out a bunch of books of eyes to try and make herself feel justified charging me the $160 for the 1 minute exam. If you don’t feel comfortable treating cats tell the patient prior to pick up sedation medication, not charge them $160 for 2 pills and no conclusions of the problem and say we will have to see you again when your cat is sedated and pay all the exams again. I also find it strange that where I was told I needed to sit I had no view of the exam happening and the fact that I wasn’t allowed back with my pet seemed odd. Avoid this place at all cost. I left and made an appointment with BluePearl veterinarian clinic a reputable ophthalmology clinic for animals.
