The people who work here are very kind and helpful. As I was getting out of my car on First St., one lens fell out of my sunglasses. I stopped in to see if they could help and they fixed my glasses right away.

Took my 6 yr old daughter here for an assessment - Dr. Wayne was amazing! He was so good with her, put her at ease, and really made her laugh! Would definitely recommend for children!

Had a great experience at Bayside Family Optometry on First Street in Benicia. I walked in needing an urgent glasses repair, and they helped me right away. The staff was friendly and professional, and they did a great job fixing my frames! Highly recommend them!

We've been patients here ever since they were located near 24 hr fitness. Dr Ogata and staff are the best!! I've recommended coworkers and they agree.

Hazel has the most experience with picking the BEST frame for your face! She saw me once a while ago, and was able to select a frame that fits me so well!! My parents and I have gone for years and I highly recommend hazel and the office!

Bad customer service and very rude. Came by Friday around 350 to ask a few questions. Instead of answers I got bad looks from the sales staff and was told to call on Monday cause they were closed. Nothing bad to say about Ogata, but I would never buy frames here again. Oh, first time I got a pair of glasses, they ordered the wrong ones. Had to wait 2 months for glasses and they charged me to return them. Shady

Thank God they moved to Benicia. Always likes this place and now I feel so much safer.

I absolutely love the doctor. He is very understanding of any concerns and does help and makes sure you understand everything. I appreciate how I don't have to wait a long time to get an appt. The receptionist always answer pretty fast. Fair warning when you have an appt you have the call them to unlock the door and let you in. Only time I ever had an issue was during covid time for the wait on my medi-cal glasses but its understandable and thankfully I was still able to use the glasses I had at the time.

For my comprehensive eye exam today, it was a fantastic experience. The doctor was extremely detailed on her exam. She answered my questions without rush, and provided additional medical advice on where and what I should go for in regards to my cataract, glaucoma, and floaters. A very important thing to note is that even after I left, the doctor even called to give me further information on floaters. The staff member was also very professional and friendly. She helped me pick out my frames and bifocal lenses with patience. After I finished picking out everything, it was already into their lunch hours. From this, you can definitely see this place’s detailed, professional attitude. For a person that has been wearing glasses for 40+ years, this was a perfect experience.

I was referred to this place by a friend that recommended Wayne as an optician. Wayne was great. To get my glasses was another thing. My first pair of glasses were not only late in getting to me, they were the wrong lenses...the staff had screwed up the order and the lenses were made wrong. To resolve and expedite the issue, I offered to buy another set of frames, just like I'd just spent $800 on and have new lenses (made correctly this time) and I would eat the wrongly made glasses and just keep them as spares. Two months later now and still no glasses. I have been lied to and gaslighted now by Wayne's staff more times than I can count. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone. Wayne needs a new staff or to move on from this group of incompetent nincompoops or suffer the loss of more customers and tarnishing his own reputation. This place is a complete joke. This is the first experience I've ever had anywhere that the entire staff are made up of pathological liars. Usually it's just one knucklehead...

We have been going to see Dr.Ogata for about 6 years and I wouldn’t change a thing they are all amazing.

Truck drivers all Post Office staff do not go to Bay Valley family optometrist PLEASE MAKE SURE TO READ THIS. THIS GOES OUT TO ALL MY POST OFFICE BROTHERS AND SISTERS. ALL BAY VALLEY IF YOU NEED GLASSES OR YOUR EYES LOOKED AT DO NOT AND I REPEAT TO NOT GO HERE. IM NOT GOING TO SIT HERE AND BASH THESE PEOPLE BUT IF YOU WANT PROFESSIONAL EYE CARE AND A STAFF THAT CARES ACTUALLY ABOUT YOUR EYES AND NOT JUST MAKING A BUCK POST OFFICE BROTHERS AND SISTERS DO NOT GO HERE. I GAVE THEM THE Opportunity to make it right and they gave me a big FAT NO!!! NICE PEOPLE YES BUT VERY VERY UN PROFESSIONAL I THINK ITS TIME FOR THEM TO FIND A DIFFERENT PROFESSION.

Dr. Ogata doesn't advertise....he is a shady character....keep an eye on him....i'm his brother living on MAUI....He missmanaged....my money....how much longer can he remain in business....ask...him what is a great investment?......

They were my first choice when I decided to get my very first pair of glasses. Now I go there all the time because they are nice and patient, they don't try to rush through anything.

Love these guys! I've been going here for years now!
