I am so thankful that Brandon Eye Associates has an office out this way. I have been going here for a few years and appreciate the fact that I don't have to drive into Brandon. I recently had cataract surgery and can't say enough about how easy and seamless the whole thing went. (And I'm a huge whimp when it comes to my eyes!) Personally, I'd like to just stop by and say hi to Dr. Fisher every day just to get a dose of his contagious enthusiasm! This guy loves what he does, and does it well. Thank you Dr. Fisher and team!

The doctor was great at explaining eye condition and treatment; the staff was pleasant. I am greatly concerned about the lack of standard precautions and hand washing. This is HEALTHCARE; these precautions apply. I have never read or heard about any field being exempt from practicing these precautions. I have not seen one alcohol dispenser, and I don't remember seeing anyone performing hand hygiene. Especially the doctor; I watched him walk into the room and not perform hand hygiene. I was very uncomfortable with him using his hand that was not sanitized and ungloved to place eye drops in my eyes and handling my eyelids with his bare hands during the examination. He was looking in my eye and talking at the same time. I could smell his breath. This was horrible (the one appointment that I decided not to wear a mask). The next day I woke up with my breath smelling like his..so gross! I did ask him about the use of gloves, and he said he had never seen gloves used in the setting. I know for a fact that if the State Rep came to my job and saw me administering eyedrop and not wearing gloves, the facility would be fine, and I would probably be written up, let alone he did an examination. My optometrist always wears gloves when I do my yearly examination. After all, this is a safe practice. I drove home after the appointment and thoroughly washed my face and eyelids. I am hoping I did not contract an eye infection. The intent of my review is not to ridicule but to provide insight and hopefully, this feedback will promote safer patient care delivery. If this is the standard practice for Brandon Eyes Associates, as I have experienced at the Sun City location, I hope you understand that this practice endangers patient safety.

I find Brandon Eye to be a pleasant place to go for eyes. It is local to me so I can use a golf cart to get there. The entire staff is very helpful and always treats me well.
