Dr. Vinson is my only recommendation for an Optometrist in Murfreesboro. Almost as a last resort I saw him about my cataracts. Finally someone told me I could have had them removed at any time. I haven’t been able to drive at night for some time. Rather than selling me another pair of glasses that wouldn’t even work, he sent me to an excellent Ophthalmologist. Grateful me.

At first this experience was amazing. Phyllis was wonderful. The doctor was wonderful. The Christian music and atmosphere was pleasant and with Covid I have never felt more safe through this pandemic. However, my eye exam was in October and it took us roughly 6 weeks or so to receive our glasses that we roughly paid $400 each for. We purchased glasses called Chemistrie where the reading portion clicks on magnetically. Within the first week my husband's magnets broke. It took another month for him to have them corrected. My lenses were made with a particular lens that I cannot use due to my astigmatism. I found this out after going back because I just could not see out of my glasses. The doctor asked me why I didn't tell him that I needed a different lens and my response is -he is the doctor why didn't he know? So they sent my glasses off to be corrected. A third month later my glasses arrive. I still cannot see out of them. I dread even calling because he made me feel uncomfortable the last time I told him they weren't correct. I try for a few weeks to adjust but they just aren't correct. So I call Mrs. Phyllis who tells me to come on in and let them fix this. When I arrive the arrogance of the conversation with this doctor astounded me. The first thing he said to me was that my glasses had been repaired once and my insurance wouldn't pay for it again. So I am still trying to figure out why my insurance paid for his mistake and not him? Second he made me feel as if I was trying to get a second pair of glasses for free when I simply just want to see? Money or insurance wasn't my issue. Trying to see was my issue. Then he reminded me that he was not wrong. Instead of doing another full exam to make sure he was not wrong he showed me what my glasses were BEFORE and AFTER he did his exam. Why not repeat the exam to MAKE SURE it is correct? So I try my best to be patient even though I've been belittled and I suggest maybe it is the shape of the lens because I get motion sick easy. So he takes my glasses and says well, we can bend this to assist. He brings my glasses back after bending them without even CONSIDERING I have a magnetic attachment for my reading glasses. Now that attachment does not work so essentially my $400+ are now useless even if they did work properly. I get home to just give it a go and attempt to try them and my attachment literally breaks in my hand when I pull it out of my case. Irony? I don't know. What I do know is that I can see BETTER out of my old glasses and that is not my imagination and I think maybe if he took the time to revisit my exam and set aside his pride I would have glasses and be able to see well today. I am very frustrated and I definitely recommend Mrs. Phyllis but absolutely will never return to this office again.
