I had an issue with a prior authorization for the eye drops that were prescribed to me. The girl in the front of the office was dismissive but she eventually called Walgreens and figured out what was needed. For the next 15 minutes she sat there passively aggressively complaining about having to complete another prior authorization to the other girl that is up front with her. Then she mentioned it to the two men that work there as well. She also changed my prescription at the pharmacy without even talking to the doctor which I am not sure is even legal. Long story short I addressed my concerns with her lack of professionalism and she continued to make rude comments and argue with me. This girl must have forgot she was at work because she was clearly trying to get the last word. I asked for an office manager and one of the other guys in the office laughed it off and said she was not there. No one cared about me being upset and feeling disrespected or that this girl was clearly arguing with me. Dr. Shields needs better people in his office because that girl is RUDE and unprofessional!! I don't expect to get attitude and complaints when asking about issues with the pharmacy. After years of using Dr. Sheilds needless to say I won't go back!!

I feel like I was just on a used car lot. I have vision insurance with a copay of $10 that's separate from medical. This was my first visit so everything should've fallen under my vision insurance with that $10 copay. They only did the usual tests, in fact it was his assistant that did them all before I even met the doctor. Why they are saying what they found (which was nothing btw) should be submitted to my medical insurance and thus charging me $40 copay seemed like a real scam. $40 is the copay for a specialist under my medical so they basically disregarded my vision insurance coverage because they could make more money charging my medical insurance company. That people, is a scam! I won't even bother to start on the eye glasses (that I don't need) they're recommending costs hundreds even using my own frames. All just a ridiculous scam. You can be friendly all day long but if you're ripping people off to line your pockets, that's when I give this shout out. I won't be going back or filling the drops he prescribed. You've been warned people.

Office is a great combo of small doctor's office family-friendly atmosphere combined with up-to-date equipment for thorough examination. Dr. Shields does a great job explaining what he is looking at and why. I've been seen here for over 15 years now and have been extremely satisfied. He keeps my vision sharp!
