The staff here have no respect for the patient's time. Appointments are scheduled, but seldom kept. If you were to arrive 16 minutes late your appointment would be cancelled, and you would be warned about "missing" the appointment, however they can schedule you to be there at any given time of day (early or late in the day), and allow you to sit in the waiting room for what seems like endless periods of time. As this review is being written, we are 56 minutes past our appointment time, still waiting to see the doctor. Where's the respect for our time? I do not recommend CEI in Edgewood KY due to their lack of time management skills, and disrespect for the patient's time.

Dr. Hillenbrand is an excellent doctor. She doesn't seem rushed at my appointments and is always willing to answer questions. She is easy to talk to. I highly recommend her.

Be aware that credentials of eye surgeons cannot be trusted. It may look good because of their connections/relations…but the skill performing surgery is disappointing. Be sure to read the reviews of patients especially the end result.
I’ve got a left eye cataract surgery early May 2023 with the assurance from my doctor that it will fix my astigmatism and double vision problem. A week after my surgery, i told my doctor that i have hazy vision and flashing light on the operated eye. He told me, it is normal and will go away in a ‘few’ days. The following week, I experienced too many floaters and intensified flashes, i called their emergency number and was seen by another ophthalmologist who told me that “you have to live with it and no intervention is needed.” Also, i need to learn how to “work around it.”
My last check-up a month after the surgery, i told my doctor/surgeon that the double vision, haziness, and flashing light is still present. In fact my vision is worst than before. He told me that i have dysphotopsia and there’s nothing he can do about it. I then cancelled the scheduled other eye surgery as I believe that he doesn’t have the skill and competence as outlined by another patient with dysphotopsia. Well, I ignored that review as his school and professional career is impressive.
Again, read all the reviews before you make the decision. Better, find another medical group that genuinely cares about their patients. The doctors I dealt with are incompetent, and no empathy at all.
My vision is still worse than before the surgery and my surgeon is aware about it.
