I’ve been seeing Dr Chen for years now and she doesn’t skip a beat. Friendly, smart, funny, and personable. She’s very thorough in her exams, asks important questions, and gives very clear detailed explanations that are easy for me to understand. The office is very clean, the staff attentive, and nice. Great selection of frames to choose from. There’s even couple reserved parking spots for patients.

I was drawn to this optometrist because of the positive reviews. The office is cozy and offers an array of glasses frames. Dr. Chen was very kind and offered pleasant conversations through out the exam as well. Moreover, she did a color test that I've never even experienced before. I was amazed by her meticulousness and could tell she's good at what she does. Now, the reason for my review is because in the end I found myself feeling remorseful rather than feeling taken care of as a patient. The receptionists helped me pick some frames to try after my eye exam. Linda, the manager, out of no where while I was deciding between two frames told me that they will be closing in 10 minutes. I found that very distasteful especially as a patient that made an available appointment offered. I had no intentions of staying longer than necessary, but felt rushed and pressured. After I selected my frames and was given a copy of the total break down. I asked what the Sapphire UV HR was and instead of explaining. She simply looked at me and held up an ad board and said, "it's the same one on your glasses now". My current glasses have a blue light filter coating on them, but I declined it this time. Hence, the confusion surrounding how the Sapphire UV is different and beneficial. The answer was unhelpful and I felt she made herself very unavailable to ask any more questions. Moreover, not once was I made aware of different options that were available besides the Sapphire UV HR. I had to find out this information on my own afterwards due to feeling conflicted. In the end, I purchased the glasses that night due to needing them and feeling pressured to make a decision. Lesson learned. After being told by someone else about different options that I could've went with that would've suited my needs more. I called first thing in the morning right when they opened to cancel the order. I was not comfortable working with them anymore. I was told by Linda that the order was already billed to insurance and sent to the lab. All I could think about was the fact that, one, just the night prior I was told they would be closing in 10 mins and, two, everyone left promptly after. I felt very conflicted due to this too. As a result, I was told that I couldn't cancel my order and the best thing they could do is pause it only. She then added that she asked me if I was sure before collecting payment (make that as you will). Since I couldn't cancel it I decided to call and ask if I could upgrade to hi-index to make the most out of the coating. I was able to upgrade the lens successfully and easily. The issue that I have with this is not the coating and lens that I ended up with, but the fact I had to find out through someone else proper information that would've aided in my decision at the time of. Fast forwarding, I received my glasses in a timely manner (approx. 2 weeks). I scheduled an appointment to pick them up and absolutely love the frames that I went with. The lens wipe away beautifully and the glasses felt comfortable on. The parking is abundant and located in a nice and quiet plaza. The plaza also has many great food options to try out as well. All in all, I find that since receptionists are the first and last ones to help you. The impact they have dictate your overall experience with the office itself. I really had high hopes for this office, but personally don't find myself returning due to my experience. I still recommend this office because of Dr. Chen's expertise. I would just make sure to do plenty of research prior and know exactly what you want.

My family has been patients of Dr Chen for years. She is one of the most professional, down to earth, kind, and very informative eye doctors we have seen. Her staff is awesome, her office is always immaculate and has a great selection of frames. I would highly recommend Dr Julie Chen.
