Go somewhere else. There's been times I've literally put off making an appointments or rescheduled just because of this office and doctor Scartozzi. The doctor is cold and brief. The whole visit is so uncomfortable from start to finish. Maybe I don't fit the right demographics? His "assistant" Heather, which I don't even know what her credentials are....she's not a registered nurse or LPN. Maybe a medical assistant is working outside her scope of practice, handling meds and assisting with procedures such as eye injections when she shouldn't be. As an RN I have never seen such disregard for patients. They are both so rude. Said things like "I can't hold your eye open for you" in a rude tone. Seriously they should hire real professionals. He spends all of 30 seconds with you and doesn't care that I'm a single mom and it's not easy finding a day where I can just not do anything and miss work, it's also hard for me to find someone to drive me home. They don't care that getting an injection into your eye is scary no matter how many times you've done it. It's disorienting and puts you out of commission for the rest of the day. Do yourself a favor and find a doctor that actually cares and who hires compassionate competent staff. I think I should file a formal complaint 1.) I am not sure how many of those injections I actually needed, 33 stable vision from all my other eye visits. I can't wait for a second opinion and there needs to be a review regarding Heather working outside her scope of practice. My last visit I was unable to attend due to weather and was reassured it was absolutely fine! I even said "are you sure I don't want to get in trouble?" She replied yes of course and was so understanding and kind to me (it obviously wasn't Heather because she doesn't have a kind bone in her body, I am sure she is the one who encouraged the letter) I was thrown out of the practice with something that said "the doctor patient relationship has deteriorated to a level that cannot be continued" Ha!!! What doctor patient relationship? I bet he doesn't even remember what I look like, or who I am. He's a horrible person who only cares about his bottom line. I can't wait to go to another provider! I'm actually relieved I never have to step foot into that place where I was made to feel uncomfortable, treated terribly and was too afraid to make appointments because of the treatment. I literally would go to make appointments and get anxiety. Thank you, sometimes things happen for a reason and now with this door closed I can find a beautiful window to a kind caring retina specialist!

Dr. Scartozzi repaired my macular hole in Nov 2017. I moved to Ohio in 2019 and every eye doctor and retina specialist I've seen here has told me what a fantastic job he did (as if I didn't know!) I have 20/20 vision in that eye and will be forever grateful for his skill, diligence, and compassion. Not to mention the awesome staff at the Prospect office! If I ever need another surgery I'll come back to CT for it for sure.

Dr. Scartozzi repaired my macular hole and now I have 20/20 vision in an eye that could not previously read the largest letters on the chart. He literally saved me from going blind and restored my vision to almost perfect. He truly is a Top Doc.
