This place is problematic! Very low quality care and lack of professionalism. I decided to give them another try but still left disappointed. First of they are not welcoming. They give preferential treatment based on what they think you can afford— you can hear them gossip about patrons judging them on choices. It is a pretty small office space so you can hear. Second the eye exam itself is an unprofessional experience where you have technicians/receptionist do portions of the test while they are managing the front desk. Leaving in and out of different rooms while you are sitting in a hallway like exam room. The doctor comes in and rushes through the exam not asking you questions just rushing to go to the next patron. The equipment is not sanitized in between sessions because they are trying to do too much. Even the screens you are looking through to get your prescription have grime and smudge build up that makes the whole exam a joke. You can tell there is a lot of guesswork. The icing on the cake is when they claimed they are not able to read prescription glasses accurately because “it depends”. It should be a simple reading but they didn’t have someone that knew how to operate the machine and gave me a whole new prescription that was different than what the doctor claimed. So you are leaving their office confused, a sub par care that is rushed and guesswork prescription that they claim shouldn’t matter. What they do really well is disguise the low quality care with modern office entrance space and try to sell you expensive products.

I’ll save you guys the hassle & money. They will literally nickel and dime you to death. I went to get prescriptions for my eyes both contacts and glasses and still haven’t been able to order them because the prescriptions aren’t complete. Then, when I asked for the information, she tells me that I need to pay 50 more dollars . Mind you I’ve already paid 50+80+ the price of the exam. Thank God insurance handled some of it. Also, I might be just imagining this, but I’m pretty sure somebody was having a wrestling match in the other room , which is pretty bizarre because the entire aesthetic is pretty calm and clean .

I’m an out of state OTR truck driver and had to get medical clearance for DOT. Being that I had to find an eye clinic on such short notice they got me scheduled and took great care of me to get me back driving. The staff was amazing and was very helpful and knowledgeable! I highly recommend Downtown Eyes for your eye care!
