I did not have the best of experience. The first time I went, Dr. Carey did spent a good amount of time to complete testing. However, I waited 2 hours before I could even see him. Ultimately, my eye pain improved. However, the second time I visited, I waited another 1.5 hours to see him, and he clearly stated to me that he will not answer some of my questions. I barely spent 5 minutes in the room, after taking half a day off work, and hundreds of dollars on treatment, and being told that he will not answer my questions. I asked if he could call me later with an answer, and he stated he will not. These were common questions - when it comes to the health of the eye, any layperson might be nervous and want to understand. I felt completely rushed and dismissed by the doctor at the end. I don't think any patient should be made felt to be a burden if they have a couple of questions. A patient should not be charged $50 copay for an appt that was only 5 mins and unproductive. Also waiting 1.5-2 hours to see the doctor is just excessive. Dr. Carey may otherwise have good knowledge, but these experiences left me feeling very upset and disrespected as a patient at the end.

No respect for patients’ time. First time going in, the wait time was about two hours. I made a mistake and booked a second appointment. Doctor Carey promised that this time there wouldn’t be a long wait. I went to the second appointment and found out the doctor took the day off without bothering to call. The front lady said they tried to call but couldn’t reach me, but there were no missed calls on my phone. Turns out they saved my number wrong.

I went to 3 eye physicians before seeing Dr Carey. All 3 gave me different diagnosis. One saying I needed surgery but very costly, one saying that I did not need surgery, the other one with giving me eye drops and come back in a year or so. They all left me with more questions than help. I was so discouraged and frustrated. I saw Dr. Carey's site and decided to see him. The best thing that I ever did. He has such a wonderful bedside manner. Upfront and honest with me. I had 2 surgeries with him, 1 for the right eye, and then 1 with the left eye 2 weeks later. I cannot express enough how satisfied I was with the whole process. He was great. My eyesight is a 100% better. What a wonderful feeling to be able to see without blurring. The surgery consultant and scheduler Shawn was great too. Scheduling for all appointments to fit my schedule. Sight is so important. You don't want to chance it or give up. See Dr. Carey.
