Dr. Avila was so kind to give me free eye drops for no charge. He was so generous and kind that he gave me two bottles. The facilities are incredible and everyone is so nice.

I have been a patient of Dr. Avila's for the past several years and believe he is an outstanding optometrist. However, my latest experience with his office staff was very concerning and irritating. After arriving early for a 1:30 appointment (that I was given over the phone), I was asked to fill out a form on my cell phone which I could barely see. I then waited about 30 minutes and then asked if the information came through. They asked my name again and said they would check. No one did. Then, after waiting another 30 minutes, I finally asked when I could expect to be seen. The office staff (4 of them) looked at each other and I could see that they realized I had been overlooked. So they said, "What is your name? You'll be next." But then, the staff person who came out said, "Well, it looks like your appointment was really at 2:30." This attempt to place the blame on the patient for the oversight of the staff was totally unprofessional and the reason I walked out. As a healthcare professional myself, I couldn't believe they thought this was an appropriate way to deal with a situation they created. It's also hard to believe that four people cannot keep track of the few patients sitting in their waiting area for over an hour. However, I'm sure Dr. Avila was told a different story about why his patient left.
