Rude, apathetic, and inpatient staff member. Background: Arrived on time for my first visit; the quoted deductible was higher than I expected and they couldn't find coverage in my insurance plan for contacts. I asked them if I could call my mom to clarify if I had other vision insurance, as I've never had this issue at other in-network offices before. Rather than being understanding of this, they told me I needed to pay the deductible, start the appointment right then (at this point, it was 10 minutes past my appointment start time), and there wasn't time for me to call my mom. I said that if I couldn't afford to order contacts, then there wasn't a reason for me to get the exam, so I needed to figure out my coverage first. She repeated that I needed to pay and start the appointment right then. I told her that I felt pressured and I was no longer interested in using them as my provider. She snarkily told me to have a nice weekend and I left. I called my mom & 5 minutes later, I had the information for my other vision coverage. Would've all been fine if the employee was patient with me. I'm not sure if she was a receptionist or the insurance coordinator, but she should not be patient-facing if that's how she acts towards them. I understand it's important to keep appointments moving, but it's also very important to be empathetic to your patients.

I have never been so humiliated in all of my 69 years the problem started with being charged for a bill that was already paid and who was my primary insurance. So I was on the phone getting the payment and insurance straight with my husband when they called me to come back I asked for a minute to finish my call before I could hang up they called another patient back and said I had to wait! Well four more patients came in and I was still waiting when they finally called me back asked me to wash my hands which I did I was told to wait by the bathroom I waited and waited then they asked me to wait back in the lobby area while other patients were called in the back for care! I finally left in tears! I have never been treated so poorly in my life! The very worst experience of my entire life, I cried all the way home. When I made the initial appointment I called to see if I could come a little later on my appointment date and the receptionist informed me that I should not have been able to make an appointment in the first place because I owed $188.00 and that that amount had to be paid before the doctor would see me! So the amount was paid I made my appointment for 2/7/23 and I informed them the amount was paid when I arrived and they said it wasn’t which started the awful treatment I received today!

The bad review is only for over charges without explanation... What a disappointment my husband and I went to our appointment everything was going well until we realized that the receptionist told us that the bill was $65.00 and ended up charging us triple. When my husband called to claim that we had been overcharged, the person said that he had not been overcharged, which was what we owed from the previous appointment. We never received any bill collected and when my husband argued, the lady said that bills were not given or sent that the state of the medical plan sent us a receipt. It did not seem ethical to us that they tell us a Balance and they will charge us another without explanation. Last visit is a lack of professional ethics and empathy for the patient. At the front desk they are supposed to explain to you what they are charging you for and why. In the end this Dr. will end up losing more than us.
