My insurance is with Cigna and Dr. Kastner is in my network. My eye exam copay is $20. When I arrived at my appointment and approached the front desk, the young lady behind the counter asked me my name and if I had been there before. I said no, so she started to give me some paperwork to complete. Dr. Kastner appeared in front of me and told her employee that she would sign me in. The young lady looked a little bit surprised and said okay. Dr. Kastner never even introduced herself to me, she did not let me sit down. She asked me my name and social security number to look up my coverage and said my exam would be $59. I told her my co-pay is $20. She replied "well some providers charge more". I said that is not allowed that's not legal it's a set co-payment. She again repeated what she told me before and added that I was welcome to leave if I wasn't comfortable with the price. This whole incident took place a foot away from the front door. Her immediate dislike of me was perplexing and the very definition of unprofessionalism. I'm not sure if Dr. Kastner had a problem with my race or gender or just didn't like the way I looked, but it felt like a bias attack on me personally. I contacted Cigna to confirm what I was told by Dr. Kastner. Cigna informed me that my exam should not have been more than $20. I left a voicemail for Dr. Kastner asking for a call back to discuss what had happened. Since she never responded I am now filing a complaint with Cigna and plan to file complaints with other state and federal agencies that regulate her industry.

Dr. Kastner is an extremely caring doctor. I always look forward to coming in for my annual eye exam! Her and the staff really create a welcoming environment.

Dr. Kastner is awesome! She makes sure to explain in detail everything she is checking/testing. In addition to that, she makes you feel very welcome. When I come for my eye appointments, I look forward to getting a chance to talk with her and catch up. I would highly recommend this optometrist!

Dr. Kastner has been my optometrist for several years now and has always provided great care for my vision. I have gone to other providers and I feel my prescription is always off. So even though I live a bit further I don’t mind driving out to get the best service that I need for my eyes. Thank you Dr. Kastner.

Dr. Kastner is a very caring doctor. She's so knowledgeable and really takes the time to find out the right care and treatment plan. So lucky to have found her. The office staff is so friendly and I always feel welcome.
