Unbelievable! Came in because of a sudden decrease in vision in my right eye a few weeks after an infection. My appointment was at 230. I was not actually seen by the doctor till 415. I was curious whether this was business as usual or whether something was off. When I asked whether he was having a tough day, he told me the "afternoon sludge" of patients slows him down. (Seems like the guy loves his job). Further, he told me that he couldn't really examine my eye that well because the fluorosene that the tech had put in over an hour prior to him walking in had dried up. When I tried to show him a picture of the infection on my phone, his response was "eww, that's gross, put it away!". (a UH doctor had the exact opposite response a few weeks later, by trying to zoom in on the picture and caring about it being part of the diagnostic process). Did not use any diagnostic equipment except for a slit lamp. He gave me a few sentences on blepharitis, and told me that baby shampoo could solve everything. And if it didn't, I could come back and sit there for another 2 hours and wait for him to actually try to diagnose an issue. Did not even get a baseline of how bad my vision was at the time. When I asked about trying, he said he could do that in 2 weeks. (Isn't that the whole point of a baseline?) I'm receiving much better diagnostic care and treatment at University Hospitals. Oh, and I got a bill for $140 to properly compensate the Cleveland Clinic for those highly disappointing 5 minutes of apathy from Dr Lane. Maybe they wasted my time on purpose so they can bill their "facility fee" by the hour?

My exam wound up being done by his assistant. She seemed rushed and never even spoke to me. It turned out to be a terrible prescription, and my vision is terrible with those lenses. I saw Dr. Lane for 5 minutes. I won't be back.
