I came here for my first exam and when I set up an appointment my insurance was accepted. But when I got there it was a whole different story, they kept adding test’s & charged me out of pocket for my exam, my glasses and lenses. They took almost a month to arrive and broke within a month. They most definitely want you to pay out of pocket. I have filed a claim through my insurance to get my money back! Bad business would not recommend and I am not happy at all with the glasses and services of this place.

Staff are very nice and helpful. Services are on time and quick. Many selections on frames

Dr. Kao was our eye doctor many years ago maybe like 20+ years ago when she was on Lundy Ave. Then we moved and started seeing a different doctor. Now my mom decided to go back to this clinic again because they take Medical-Medicare. One thing we didn’t like is that just to go select glasses or pick up ready glasses, you need an appointment. When we walked in with a prescription from my mom’s eye specialist to pick out glasses, the front desk staff gave us attitude and told us they don’t take walk ins even to select glasses. The glasses for medical/medicare were not a lot. They have men’s, women, and kids in one box. Sorry not too many options to choose from. Dr. Kao is awesome, that’s why we went back, but I feel like she should hire friendly and welcoming staff. Thank you.

Poor service. Multiple delays after arriving for scheduled appointment. Did not offer compensation or reschedule for wasted time. Ended up walking away from a pre scheduled appointment with no tests conducted or consultation with any specialist.

Always a great experience with Dr. Lisa Lin. She is patient, friendly, and asks lots of questions to get an understanding of my vision. Docking a star for the experience with the front desk staff. They gave me a look when I don’t want to purchase contact lenses from the office or pay extra to change to a new type of lens. Of course there is no pressure to purchase from here, but it makes me feel bad when I don’t. Nonetheless, I’ve continued to come here yearly for my annual check up and don’t have plans to change offices.

Dr. Kao is the best O.D. I have ever seen in Bay Area. After visiting Dr. Kao around 20 years ago, I have never switched to another O.D. My myopia is very poor and complicated. Dr. Kao patiently checks my vision and prescription each time, and give me the best vision and acuity. I highly recommend Dr. Kao, especially to those people with high myopia.

Having read the past bad reviews. I happened nearby in a day and visited it. It turned out the people gave these reviews are honest people and it’s true the staff there definitely not welcoming and gave bad attitude. The owner in the past replied that they are lack of training or stressed out. It turns out these are all nonsense. So many years past by still not trained well? You change staff every month? The staff are not happy with what they’re doing. Then whose fault is that? Definitely not the customer. In a nutshell, this place simply sucks! stay away from it. Period.

OD was so-so, was not patient and not thorough, did not mention any discovery or conclusion to me. Refused to provide my eye exam results even though I had already paid for the prescription and services. Staff members were terrible as well. Acted like we were enemies not customers. Tried to talk into buying more products. Overall, DO NOT GO. Waste of time, waste of money, very bad attitude. Edited: not sure about the message below. Seems that there are other customers with unpleasant experience. Serious issue with this place. Save yourself time and money by going elsewhere. Good luck.

AVOID AT ALL COST Like the other reviews, I had the same experiences at this optometrist. Me and my relative made our appointment and got our prescription and glasses as our insurance had this place. Inexperienced optometrist lacking skills and she was very rushed. Other than that, everything was fine during the whole visit until we got our classes. Both our prescriptions were way stronger than needed and we went back for adjustments. We made an adjustment and got our new glasses back and it was completely the same, and went back for adjustments again. The optometrist told my relative it was the lowest prescription already and that there’s nothing else I can do and that’s all that. With the new adjustments, there was no change in anything, still the same dizziness and level of uncomfort. I’ll be avoiding this optometrist from now on.

I was trying to find a new optometrist amongst a large selection. I was impressed with this office because they actually had a website, the website was organized and thorough and there was a great bio on each of the optometrists in the office. I was able to get an appointment within a couple of days. This was the best experience I've ever had with an Optometry Office and in getting my eyes tested. They take their time, they have great eyewear selection and they are not like pushy salesman. I plan on continuing to patronage this office for the foreseeable future and I highly recommend. Update: Dear Dr Kao et al: I can honestly say this is the first time I have ever picked up a pair of prescription eye glasses that were perfect. Your office has been gracious, accommodating and professional and I'm so happy to have found your practice. I can see so clearly! Dr. Kao and her staff took care of me and my optometric needs very well. Kudos to Dr. Kao and her staff. Make an appointment today and get your eyes checked by either her or one of her skilled associates.

The doctor is pretty good, but you never want to buy any glasses or lenses there. I buy a glass on 12/6/2022, then I receive it around 1/5/2023. When I receive my glasses, I figure it out the lenses not match the frame. So I come back to their office to adjust on 1/6. Then they sent it back to “lab” on 1/10 and have no expected delivery date for me. And I don’t know when my glasses could be ready. It’s 2-months already, it’s so disappointing & can’t been acceptable. I will never to buy any glasses or lenses here anymore. 1/24 Update: The office contacted me and apologized for the delay. They also give me the reason why the process delay via a phone call. (They have 2x staff left recently.) Finally, I can really know when I get the chance to receive my glasses back. Even the original experience is not good, but I can feel they really want to improve and keep the customer satisfaction. Thanks, Dr. Jennifer Kao. Came in for some glasses and they only billed medical my eye exam but had me pay out of pocket for the lenses when they were supposed to bill that to medical as well. Beware of these scammers. It’s been over a month and haven’t received my refund for the lenses

I would like to express my disappointment and frustration regarding the service and staff during my call and ask for some information. I guess they don't welcome new customer, go to other OD if you can find one in your area. I'm surprised they're having the same issues for years and still surviving.

I thought this place is great. The optometrist doctor was nice friendly and describe my eye condition in detail. Took the time to check my prescription etc. I don’t even speak Chinese and it was a friendly experience overall.

The office is clean and the staffs are very attentive. The doctor explained the process well and if there are any issues you may have with your eyes he/she will provide treatment solutions. I appreciate the prompt response to my appointment. They are very careful regarding COVID. Mask is required when you visit their facility and they asked at the appointment scheduling time that you will be ok with it. Not too much glasses brands for selection. Overall, I am satisfied with the facility and the service.

I called to schedule an appointment for my son, they got us in fast and the staff is super friendly.

I was referred to the OD by a friend but i would not recommend this place after my visit. I agree with many of the reviews that the OD was ok but the office staff and manager were unfriendly and did not care for my business. There was only one young office staff who was patient and gentle but she was quickly replaced by another staff who was the complete opposite. She was rough and impatient while assisting with retinal imaging. I complained to the OD about the staff’s roughness right away but didn’t get any feedback. I was told each appointment was 30 minutes long but both the OD and the office staff were in a rush to finish my kids and my appointments off. The unfriendly and impatient staff and I had a couple of disputes in the office. The office manager resolved the issues with a remark, it was pointless and waste of energy to continue our conversation while there were many other patients waiting.

Is it because the business is so good and there are too many patients, so the manager can be rude? Very bad experience.

I've been going to Jennifer's Optometry for the last 20+ years. The staff has always been great with helping get the right pair of glasses style to match what I'm looking for. The team is well informed and very professional. During Covid they've got great covid procedures to keep both their staff and customer safe.

This is the newer office. Place is fine.

Wife goes there for eye exam, Dr is good, front office staff act like our business is not welcomed. I advise find other offices.

The environment of new office is better than before. A good place for people who speak Chinese.

This was my first time experience so I wanted to like this place but so far just so so. Actually, Dr. Kao looks so kind and nice but except for that, the other things were not that great. The cost or prices are at a little bit higher end and sometimes, I felt the customer support is not well organized. Sometimes, they have called or texted me more than 3 times just to confirm appointment time for example, however, they did not notify me even when I was waiting for my new ones long time although they have them on hands already

The OD was good, very detailed and efficient. The receptionist treat customers like enemies. I won’t go there anymore

I brought my 5 year old hoping this office would accommodate her. The staff and Dr were very friendly and patient with my daughter. My daughter will now need to wear glasses. Thankful Dr wants to do a follow up appt to make sure her prescription is as accurate as possible. I plan to bring my other children now
