Without a doubt the best cornea specialist! Staff is always friendly.. Dr. Bokosky will answer any questions you have.. Had cataracts in both eyes, now seeing 20/20 without glasses..

My wife was just at an appointment with him and when she asked if insurance paid for a procedure that he was promoting, he became dismissive and said “we are done here “ The obvious implication was if he was not going to get additional money he was not interested in her situation. Very poor judgment and worse bedside manner.

Staff is polite, caring and informative. I had laser surgery in 2018 and returned for second laser. Dr. Bokowski takes time to explain what will take place and the results. I would recommend Eye Care Center.

Doctor Bokosky and his staff always take good care of me when I visit, even if last minute. My issues after having lasik at another doctors office have improved under Bokoski.

my appointment was at 12:15 pm but I had an accident in the freeway, i called at 12:50 pm to re-schedule but they will charge my $50 for no show up. Terrible customer service. avoid !

Disappointing experience. This doctor told me he doesn't want me to be his patient anymore. LOL After surgery one is not allowed to drive home you must have someone pick you up. Well Bokosky ran 2 hours over so I had to cancel because my ride wouldn't be available. I had to get out of the chair I had been sitting in attached to an IV for 2 hours. It would be another 2 hours! Initially they said come in at "1pm done by 3pm" . Long story short they're not good I'm booking appointments they canceled appointments after you've been waiting for so long I'm already in the chair waiting to have surgery and they two hours late I have someone picking me up they're not going to be available. This doctor gets mad at me and says I'm not going to be your doctor anymore someone else is going to be your doctor he's mad at me the patient the victim in this case instead of saying I'm sorry for the delay what a piece of work.

Opthalmologist Dr. Bokosky and his team are outstanding at what he/they do. Clearly he loves what he does, and therefore he’s excellent at his eye surgery and eye care of his many patients. It was our experience that he showed great compassion, and was thorough in analyzing and explaining my wife’s problem, and ultimately caring enough to resolve a problem that another ophthalmologist in another practice had cavalierly dismissed as non-existent. That eye surgeon who had performed my wife’s cataract operations had left a suture in one of her eyes, making her eyesight not better but much worse, blurry and even painful thereafter. Can you just imagine how such a reality could spiral down into despair? Fortunately, our Optometrist recognized the problem, so referred us to Dr. Bokosky, whose great skill managed to remove the suture, granting my wife the perfect vision she ultimately sought. To her, Dr. Bokosky is a miracle worker, and we now wish we had chosen to be his patient from the beginning. His office is extremely busy with many staff but we found each one welcoming, efficient and, caring. And yes, his office is full of patients, but bottom line, our experience is that it’s well worth it to be a patient patient! Dr. Bokosky moves at a rapid pace, but long enough to explain thoroughly, directly and compassionately. He deserves an A+.

World-class doctor in a world-class facility. San Diego is fortunate to have the most experienced doctor in eye care, Dr. John E. Bokosky. And I consider myself the most fortunate patient for being under his care. I felt heard and thoroughly cared for. His Sorrento Valley staff sets the bar high for patient care. Special shout-out to Mario, Mary Lou, and Rudy. What a phenomenal experience all around.

Being on time for your appointment and having to sit and wait for 2 - 3 hours just for the doctor to get into his office to start seeing his patients shows me that he really doesn't care about them. This type of behavior is unprofessional and unacceptable.

Two hour wait in office for 15min follow-up.

I strongly recommend seeking opinions from multiple doctors before settling on Dr. Bokosky for treatment. During my visit, I was misled regarding my options for treating my keratoconus. I was informed that the only available therapies involved traveling to UC Irvine for procedures like cross-linking and PRK. However, this information is inaccurate; numerous reputable facilities within San Diego County are state-funded and equipped to perform these procedures. I urge anyone reading this review to approach a doctor’s recommendations cautiously. Doing thorough research and considering various perspectives before making any medical decisions regarding your health is essential. Consulting with other specialists may provide you with more accurate information and potentially better treatment options. Very unfortunate considering Bokosky’s reputation within the medical field, what a shame!

Dr. Bokowsky is very intelligent. He did cataract surgery on my left eye yesterday and so far I am very pleased with the results. His bedside manner varies from not very good to very good. The not very good seems to come when he is rushing between patients. He can tend to be brusque. It appears that his practice is overloaded. On two of my appointments I spent quite a bit of time waiting for him to come in. Today, on my follow up appointment, I waited an hour. He also seems to try to upsell services. Bottom line, seems to be excellent surgeon, but buried in the success of his practice.

Dr Bokosky is a great doctor, but I have had to wait in the waiting room over an hour each time I show up for my appointment on time. My time is very valuable. I don’t appreciate the long wait times!

Staff always friendly and helpful. dr b always makes sure to ask if you have any questions. Sometimes there is a wait but I don’t mind I know im not the only one being seen and the attention I want I know dr b gives to everyone else so it’s worth the wait and once you’re in it goes by fast.
