This place is a joke.
Everyone that works here is incompetent INCLUDING THE DOCTOR.
From giving incorrect prescriptions, rude staff, and long wait times.
Do NOT come here!!!!

Terrible service, I waited more than 2 hours for them to attend to me, I don't understand why they give appointments if they don't respect the schedule.
One star is too much for this place!

Excellent doctor and person! He performed several major procedures on me, all successful. If I was still in Los Angeles, there's no else I'd choose.

I received excellent care here, including surgery for diabetic retinopathy. I had been seeing pricey specialists in Boston who failed to diagnose the retinopathy and I went blind in my left eye as a result. I was being treated for retinal edema and iritis in my right eye but I developed an allergy to the medication I was taking which was doing damage to my right eye. when I saw Dr Eshagian I was a mess and close to being permanently blind in both eyes. He did surgery for the retinopathy within a few days of my first visit and handled my right eye with different medications. End result- within 2 months I had sight restored in both eyes, off all meds and I gave had no trouble since . Its been 2 years and I really cannot complain about any service or treatment I received.. My prescription for my glasses is the same as BEFORE I developed these issues. I have only the highest recommendation for Dr. Eshagian and his kind staff. Linda Colburn

Dr Esagian is a great old-fashioned kind of doctor who takes his time to care and treat his patients. I first went to see him and was impressed with his caring style. I even refer my husband to be his patient. I was going to another Chinese eye doctor who wanted me to buy everything in his office and did not even notice that I had very high eye pressure. Thanks to Doctor Joseph Eshagian for noticing that I have eye pressure and has been giving me eye drop treatment prescriptions. Dr Eshagian is a very good eye doctor and I just can't say it enough. The only thing is that waiting time is long but it is worth it because you are seeing one of the best eye specialist in the world. I also like the fact that he always answers his phone after hours and this tells you that this is a doctor that cares!!!!!!!!! Monica M.

This place is very disorganized. There doesn't seem to be any kind of system for patient sign in, patient outreach, patient info or clinic app reminders besides an old crumpled composition book. In the 3 hours I've been here, several people have complained multiple times about appointments, referals, and a lack of communication. All while waiting for a 1 hour eye exam that's taken over 3 hours to do.

I waited 2.5 hours in a cramped dirty room where people were listening to music from their phones at full volume, children were screaming, and the staff did not try to maintain discipline. It looked like a line at Saul Goodman's reception area. After 2.5 hours, a man in a wrinkled T-shirt and pants stained with paint (I thought he was a constructor) called me into the office, where he examined me on a machine, then a doctor came out, spent 1 minute measuring my eye pressure and said that the appointment was over for today. Why did I wait in line for 2.5 hours in a terrible environment so as not to receive a consultation on a previously stated problem (retinal dystrophy)?!

I do want to explain why I'm giving this doctor a 2/5 star rating. My aunt had to go to the hospital due to how badly the inflammation from her left eye is. She spoke to a doctor and referred her to a eye doctor which is this one. We went and he prescribed her cephalexion antibiotics 500 mg and it did reduce the pain from her left eye significantly but not treat it. Later, we had to come back in 1 week for Dr. Eshagian to check her left eye to see if she needs eye drops.
We had to wait hours just like the other 11 patients in order to consult with him and when it was my aunts turn, right when he set foot in the room his first question to my aunt was "when do you want to have the surgery for the cataract?" My aunt explained to him in our first visit to him that she already has a eye doctor to consult a few months before. Her eye doctor Dr. Mandel told her she has cataract but tiny. My aunt told him she still sees everything perfectly fine and he told her for her left eye having cataract she doesn't need surgery if she still sees everything perfectly fine. When she told him of what his first eye doctor told her about the cataract he didn't say anything. Now coming back to our second visit to him, his first question to my aunt is "when are you going to have surgery?". He was more concerned with that than my aunt's left eye. We had to remind him the reason why we came a second time, he checked her eye, and told her he can't prescribed her eye drops or else it would damage her eye lid.
When my aunt finally had time to consult her first eye doctor, she explained to him everything about Dr. Eshagian and he told her it's unnecessary for him to give my aunt cephalexion because the problem is directly from within the eye not the surrounding area that is linked to eye. The other unneessary statement is immediately having surgery. He told her, its best to have a surgery if all the medications for your problem have failed. Her first eye doctor gave my aunt the right treatmetn this time and did treat her left eye.
Again, I appreciate Dr. Eshigian for reducing the pain from my aunts left eye at that time but other than that, I wouldnt recommend him to just anyone but again this just our personal experience. Your experience with him might be different from ours.

They told me I needed surgery then ghosted me for 6 months. When I made another appointment the doctor thought I’d already had the surgery..!! Wait time is excessive. Facilities are dirty and unkempt. Exam rooms are full of equipment. Doctor doesn’t listen. Staff never calls back.

Unfortunately there is no negative 10 option to rate this doctor.
Dr. Eshagian either took over or bought the business from retired eye doctor, opened new office inheriting phone number of an old one and disrespectfully ignored to notify calling for appointment patients of former doctor that this eye clinic is operating under new person.
I called to make an appointment for my mother knowing that I’m calling her regular eye doctor. Front gave me a date for her and didn’t even mention to me that she will be seen by new doctor not old one. Not to mention that upon picking up the phone they said “hello” instead of Dr. Eshagian office. So my mother went to the office thinking that her eye doctor just changed the location. Upon arriving she was asked to fill forms. She asked why she needs to feel forms if she is an existing patient. Response was that her old doctor retired. She asked why didn’t they tell her when we called for appointment. Response was - new office is trying to get old patient for themselves. My mom left, so doctor caught her by the elevator, turned phone flashlight on and tried to check her eye in the hallway by the elevator… unbelievable.

Follow Up after surgery: This Dr is wonderful. truly. He's a pro. Had 2 surgeries and after care for a year now~ He's easy to get an appointment with, yes, you may have to wait in the office because they are busy; but a Dr. and office staff who care~ in L.A. is worth the wait to me. I love what this man , and his practice are about. Original review: writing this because i see the one star reviews and i want to counter them ~i loved my experience with this dr. he is informative, patient centered and kind. i am scheduled to have him do my 2 cataract surgeries. i've had 2 office visits so far and i love this place. old fashioned Hollywood at it's best~ and he is a skilled surgeon if you look for the medical info.
