I have never heard of dr kong until about 7:45 this morning when I received a text reminding me of an upcoming appointment at 9:30 am.. They had my name and number but I didn't schedule anything with them, their practice seems very sketchy if not illegal

For 1 the Hispanic receptionist has a staring problem when my husband told me she kept staring at him i looked over and she was staring so she seen me looking and the heffer rolled her eyes at me lmao 🤣 I want to say that what they run as a business is very unprofessional they called us to the back for pictures and instead of her showing us to a room she told us you can go to room # i will be in shortly then we sat in the room for about 30 min waiting no one came so we just got up and left

I've been seeing Dr. Chang and his associates since 2004. Never once have I had a problem with the many ladies who have worked the front desk. They have always been friendly and waited on me with a smile. Dr. Chang or sometimes his fill in has been very professional and very nice getting me out of the chair in a decent time. I've never had to wait past my appointment time to get in the chair or had to wait very long after in it. I've used Chang for contacts and glasses and never once thought I was treated poorly, unprofessional or charged for services not provided. I suspect people complaining of such things were rude, expecting extra special treatment or something for free. I don't drive all the way from Norman for bad service. I will until I can't any longer.

I’ve seen Kong Chang, OD, for years and have found him to be nothing but courteous and professional. My most encounter was just today, being seen for a one-day post op visit for a cataract surgery and lens implant. He did a very thorough exam to determine that the lens had properly seated, and the intraocular pressure was within normal limits. Dr. Chang is not one to hold your hand and give you sweet platitudes, but if you want a professional optometrist who is both thorough and competent, you can’t go wrong with your choice of vision experts.

The wait time was ridiculous. Waited in the waiting room for 45 mins then they took us to the back room to wait for another 30 minutes. Although the wait time was not something I had in mind, the doctor was great. He did a thorough examination and engaged well with my teen nephew.

Dr. Chang and staff sre very cool. I totally recommend them, and Eyemart Express. They're cool, at Eyemart, as well. 🙂 …

I hardly ever leave a review. But do not come here, I had my eye exam and photo thing done. Told the optometrist several times I had blurry vision even with the lenses on that it seemed as if there was a film and that I could see fine in paper like materials but not with the screen they used, that the light affcted my vision. He said it was normal that I was testing 20/20 with the lenses but I could see the same without them 🤨 in paper just not the screen which is what affects me. 3 months have passed and I still have the same issues with my lenses and they say it is because my vision might have changed.

I was reading the reviews in the waiting room feeling a little nervous but everybody was super professional and accommodating and listened to my issues I was having with my old glasses. They tweaked my prescription a little and I also needed bifocals so I went next door and was helped by a super kind girl who helped me pick out my frames and they were ready in an hour and I was able to see super clear driving home! Super happy with my experience using this doctor and the eyemart next door!

I went to Kong Chang and associates on North May and they gave me the diabetic eye exam. "Nope, you gotta have it." Then they told me my insurance would not pay for it and I had to pay for it or I wouldn't get my prescription.

I took my 93 YO mom with Dementia to Dr Chang. Every single person in the office was wonderful to us. They never got impatient or short and treated her like their own grandmother.

Well, it's unfortunate that I see such a low score in review for Dr. Kong Chang and associates. I've had an excellent time here getting my eye exam was prompt. I waited a short while but they helped me as soon as possible. They have a new optometrist. His name is Dr. Crosby. The young man was about 40 and very experienced and helped me. I'm excited that he has joined the team and I wish him the best in his career. Please do not listen to these negative reviews if you need an eye exam. My family and I had a very good experience with Dr. Chang and his staff during our most recent visit. As always Dr. Chang was very kind, and very patient as he is a Doctor Who explains everything to you and answers your questions. The staff were all very professional. We were attended to in a timely manner. Dr. Chang's staff has always been very kind and helpful to my entire family.

Overall experience with the actual eye doctor was not bad. The office is very humid in the front office area also outdated, very small space even for customers to sit some customers were sitting on the floor, please when calling for scheduling please let your customers know Medicaid cost is $28.00. I was under the impression the copay was $4.00 I understand this is a very young staff in the office but communication is everything in a business. Some staff members are under age I see. Add to the call. Copay plus exam is not covered under Medicaid customers be aware!

Last time I went was a few years ago and everything seemed fine. This time everything seemed fine once again until when the exam was over, I told both the Dr and the person brought up my receipt I just needed a week supply because I don't normally wear contacts and just needed them for a trip. After they quoted the price for the six months supply I thought I clearly stated I only needed them for a week. Why it make sense to only charge me for the exam and let me leave empty handed with only a receipt seems odd. When I called back I was repeatedly placed on hold for long periods of time and then informed of a follow-up exam that in the week that had passed no phone call or email was sent to remind me. Won't be going back if I can avoid it.

I got my annual contact fitting with Dr. Kong at the N May Ave location. Doctor Kong scheduled a week follow up, showed up for my follow up 10 minutes early. I was not seen until 45 minutes after my appointment time, after the 5th person from the lobby went back that showed up after me I asked what’s the deal. Only then was informed they lost my chart within a weeks time. Will not recommend this doctor or any of his offices. He also speeds through his exams and barely spends anytime with his patients.

I don’t know what the bad reviews are about. All I hear is griping to pay for contacts and prescriptions without paying for a fitting? I’ve NEVER seen an optometrist who doesn’t charge for fittings. I haven’t paid in awhile since mine continue to fit well. The one HE prescribed me. I have a slight astigmatism in one eye and he allows me to bump up the power, but if it gets worse he says i have to go to Asymmetric lenses. They saw me immediately when I had a dangerous bacterial ulcer and sent me to a ophthalmologist that saw me with no wait to get this potentially blinding infection knocked out. Bottom line: if you don’t like contact price get a Costco membership. If you don’t want to pay nearly $100 for a contact fitting that isn’t likely to change for decades. Call around and find a better price. I like this guy. He’s honest and direct and takes his practice seriously.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! Today (7/7:26)I am convinced that the optometrist office of Dr. Kong is the most unprofessional, unethical and illegal business. They openly and unapologetically used an illegal tactic to keep my property that I paid for saying I owed a balance for an unrelated service from November 2025. If you have experienced any suspicious interactions with them, I encourage you to file complaints with the FTC and the Oklahoma Board of Optometry

I would not recommend this place for prescription glasses or contact lenses. My husband visited about a month ago for a prescription and to order contacts. We were told repeatedly over weeks that the contacts were out of stock, and finally we were told they were “in” — but only if we scheduled a “fitting/try-on” appointment. When he went to that appointment, he was charged — despite the staff member not knowing how to properly insert contacts and refusing to help him. They said “if you can’t put them in, you can’t have them.” Meanwhile they gave inconsistent reasons for the charge: first the appointment itself, then the lenses, then a supposed contract. They claimed the lenses had arrived, but in reality they were never ordered. No other eye doctor I’ve visited has required a “fitting” just to sit there and do nothing, then still charge me. The communication was terrible, the professionalism was nonexistent, and the whole experience seemed dishonest. Bottom line: go somewhere else for glasses or contacts. This place is disorganized, misleading — and a waste of your money and time. My husband will be filing a complaint with the state licensing board because of this.

I’m not sure why the rating for this office is so low but I can tell you that it does not reflect the service here. I’ve been going to this office since high school and it’s they have been nothing but attentive and caring every step of the way. People at the front desk are always so nice and helpful with everything I need like insurance or answer all my questions without sounding annoyed. I ask a lot of questions. Dr Kong is super knowledgeable and honest during all my visits, it’s a genuine human interaction without some kind of sales pitch. If you’re looking for a long term optometrist, I would give this place a shot and decide for yourself.

Dr. Was rude, unprofessional and cocky. He did not check my health for preventative care. The glasses and contact prescription was way off. I asked him a week later to check my vision again and he refused. He told me I was just being sensitive. Also that I needed to just get used to NOT seeing the small test print with my contacts. 🤬 Rudest eye doctor I've ever gone!
