This physician refused to return a $100 deposit when I canceled a surgery 2 1/2 weeks before the scheduled date. I am being charged for his office staff’s error . He was fast to cash my check 2 days after it was given to him. He never provided me with a copy of papers he claims I signed . I am a senior on a fixed income who does not appreciate paying for his inadequate scheduling staff personnel . His office is outdated . He is a greedy UF graduate physician.

Dr. Balch is a pleasant, competent fellow. But do not even consider getting your new glasses at his lobby shop. The staff is ignorant, rude and deceptive.. Three weeks ago today I ordered a new prescription using frames that were right there in the shop. It would take a couple of weeks they said and they'd call. Today I called them and after sitting on hold while they looked into it, the shopkeeper finally returned to explain that when they talk about weeks they are really talking about work days, of which there are only five per week and thus it takes four weeks to accumulate 20 days which is less than three weeks by their calculation. It could be another week or so before my glasses are ready. They are treating me like an ignorant fool who doesn't understand calendar magic. The glasses are over $1000 and I am infuriated that allowed convenience to dictate my shopping. Never again.

Rudest office staff ever! I needed to wait until December to have an eye surgery because December would be the only time I could take off work and the only time I could have a family member come to Florida to be with me after the surgery. What does the DR do because I need to wait a few months? Sends me a nasty letter informing me I am no longer a patient and requesting that I don't call or come by the office. REALLY? The last time I was in the office everything was 100% fine .... now this? I wouldn't trust a doctor who's office staff are such HORRIBLE HUMAN BEINGS. OH AND BTW THIS DR HAS BEEN IN THE NEWS BEFORE WHEN HIS OWN OFFICE STAFF REPORTED HIM FOR FRAUDULENT BILLING PRACTICES in 2019!!!!! You don't even need 20/20 vision to see what an unethical person you are dealing with here!
