I was able to get in to see Dr. Putney within the week that I called. His staff were friendly and professional, as was he. I felt that each of them treated me with courtesy and respect, which should be the minimum, but that is not always the case. Dr. Putney's charges were at the lower end of the offices I researched. His exam was thorough, and he explained each step of the exam and gave feedback after each step was complete. I would be happy to recommend him to friends and family.

I made an appointment bc my eye was irritated and very scratchy feeling. It was extremely uncomfortable. Dr. Puntney diagnosed a problem and prescribed a medicine for me to fill that was $35. I continued to have the same problem for two more days. I paid a total of $85 for Rx and appt. with Dr Puntney. By Wednesday my eye was still painful, itchy and irritated so I made an appointment with another doctor. That doctor said I had an eyelash from the lower lid that was turned inward and was scratching my eye. Why Dr. Puntney didn’t see this I don’t know. But he caused me great discomfort for two extra days that I didn’t need to go through. I’m letting anyone who’s considering him as their doctor to seek help elsewhere and not have to go through what he caused me to go through for 2 extra days of pain and vision problems.

Just had my eye checkup with Dr. Puntney and it was great! The staff was super. Dr. Puntney did an awesome job checking my eyes and explained everything very well. Really happy with the whole experience—definitely recommend them!

Dr Putney is great, but his staff is super unprofessional/rude, especially Tessa. Sad to say that we won't be back because of bad experiences with that staff.

I moved to Waco, Texas from Alabama 1 year ago. Finding such a talented eye doctor has been such a blessing. Dr. Puntney and his entire staff have made me feel like part of the family. My contact lens and glasses needs have been met. I would so recommend him and his office staff.

Totally loved Dr. Puntney he took time to explain everything he was doing and found. I had questions about a parents eye problem (macular degeneration) and is it inherited. He took time to answer my Questions. Staff was friendly and professional.

Love this office and staff! The girls there (Roxane and Sarah) are super kind and we’re helpful in getting myself and my children appointments and throughout the appointment. Thank you to the staff at Dr. Putneys office for being so kind and also gentle with my children as well as myself.

Dr Puntney gives me the most accurate eye exam. I tried changing to a different Dr because it was closer to me and they gave me prescription so off that it gave me headaches. Went to Dr Puntney and he corrected my prescription. I highly recommend him!

Great Dr.. Been using him for over twenty years. He gives an extremely thorough eye exam both mechanically, and physically . Dr. Puntney takes time to listen and his explanations are very clear. Because of the completeness of an exam, he found my cataract. The front desk can be a little busy and crowded when first checking in, but they take the extra time needed when you are checking out. I recommend him to everyone who asks me who I go to.

I first came to Doctor Puntney two and a half years ago. Since then I have brought in my wife and two of three of my children to be his patients. Amazingly kind office staff and doctors. I live in Temple and drive here to Waco to see him.

I wish I could give Dr.Putney 10 stars as he is a great optometrist with a cheerful personality and makes you feel at ease. His exams are extremely thorough and I left the office knowing that my eyesight was taken care of as I am diabetic and my eyesight has to be watched carefully. I have a great deal of confidence in Dr Putney and I know I am in good hands. The staff is friendly and very efficient. A great experience all around.

Dr. Puntney was extremely professional and cordial during my eye exam. I was a bit nervous and he and his team were friendly which made me comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Puntney and his office team.

This is a hidden gem - you wouldn't kmow it from the location. The staff are surprisingly nice and competent, and Dr Puntney is a great optometrist who does a great job with eye exams. I look forward to the next time.

Dr. Putney is great. His front desk and pretesting staff is awesome. Very professional, and informative. They explained everything clearly for me to understand. Looking forward to seeing them again!

The office is always clean and inviting. Sarah is always helpful and goes above and beyond to answer questions and concerns. Dr. Puntney has been our optometrist for years and shows his genuine passion for his patients.

I recommend Dr. Puntney and his staff if you are looking to schedule an eye appointment. The ladies who helped me (at the front desk and with my screening) were very pleasant and cheerful. I didn't have to wait past my scheduled appointment time. Dr. Puntney was very thorough and was able to tweak my prescription to help me see better. I strongly recommend Dr. Puntney's office if you are looking for a place to have your vision checked/contacts/glasses.

Dr. Putney has a very welcoming staff that is so helpful and courteous. They looked up my insurance and took care of the filing without any hesitation. My appointment was on time and didn’t have to wait any. I really appreciated Dr. Putney taking time to help me understand what each test was saying and what options there are to correct my vision. I'd been to Dr. Putney in the past, and had a great experience getting contacts. For glasses this time, I tried Stanton and that was a big waste of time & money. I've since gone back to Dr. Putney and got a new prescription that I can use to get my choice of glasses anywhere. That's a great deal, if you ask me. Dr. Putney has a GREAT staff, and the folks at the eyeglasses store next door are extremely knowledgeable & helpful, too. Great combination. And they are both open Saturday!

I have seen Dr Puntney a couple time over the years and he is the only optometrist that has written a prescription that I does not give me vertigo. I always recommend him to everybody. However recently I took a friend to his office only to hear walk ins.are not welcome. I called before at 9:40am and nobody answered. The only mention of appointments I found anywhere was appointment recommended. It should have said appointment required.

The office staff was so helpful and courteous. The appointment was very efficient and we really appreciated Dr. Puntney’s sweet disposition. They even did a contact lens class for my kiddo new to contacts. Highly recommend!

Everyone in the office is so nice. Really made the whole process easy. Dr Puntney is the best. He explained what the different test were for and how it impacted my vision health.

Dr puntney took me in as a walk in, in between patients, was able to help me remove my lost contact lens, gave me some drops for my discomfort and sent me on my way for free. Very good doctor. Thanks a lot Dr puntney!

I was not contacted for 9 months after my exam to let me know that my contacts were ready to be picked up. After finally being contacted, they tried to tell me that I owed extra money even though I had already paid after my exam. I asked why and they said it was because they charged me the wrong co-pay. I informed them that if it was their mistake then I won’t be paying any extra after this long. The doctor told me that “He understands and will “let it slide” this time, but it was my responsibility to pay and I will be expected to pay it next time.” Not the best apology when you’ve already admitted that it was your mistake, in my option. There will not be a next time so hopefully one of the many other optometrists in Waco will be able to charge me the correct amount and not take a almost a year to get my order in.

If I could this Dr would get no stars. We have been using the Dr at Target and have been paying an insurance co pay of $10.00 for the exam. My daughter received and exam from Puntney today and her exam was $45.00. Since we have been paying …

Honesty i look forward to my yearly dr appointments. I feel appreciated and acknowledged as a returning patient. Dr Putney is very attentive and thorough. He makes you feel at ease. The staff is great. I’ve been a patient for years and can tell you Sarah is a super star and fantastic at her job.
