there is no zero stars to pick from. *****EYE PATIENTS PICK ANY OTHER EYE DR. THAN THIS ONE**** Young lady that called me to reschedule my appt. was extremely rude, unprofessional and got personal on the phone, even asking me where i worked at that i couldn't go in during the day? she went as far as asking me "Don't you have sick leave hours"? then proceeded to tell me that other teachers go in, as i told her i ran out of my 10 days the district gives us, which was none of her darn business, i told her i used most of them up when i got covid months ago. She freaked out and i guess, didn't even hear me say months ago. she exclaimed, You have COVID??? wow, i said, no. i said months ago sweety. I told her i didn't like the staff already and i went ahead and rescheduled for 3 pm, i guess they go home early everyday. Didn't have a good feeling about them. Just before calling them back to cancel, the office manager (Alex), Dr's wife, who knows, called me and said my appointment was cancelled and couldn't see me. Good riddance, nothing ventured nothing gained. I'm so glad their boss goes up to bat for the rude employees. I wonder if the dr knows they are scaring patients away? Or is he the one that weeds out patients that get picked on by his staff? It's sad how if you don't put up with their rudeness, you're out. But there are plenty of other dr's to choose from. I've already called a dr's office in Harlingen, and wow, what a difference!!! Very professional on the phone, and helpful when the patient is in a pickle. They don't call it a day at 3pm. They stay open till 5. I'm so glad I didn't see Dr. Hesterberg.

We were patients of Dr. Hesterberg 23 years ago before we moved to Houston. We were visiting in Brownsville on July 22, 2019, and my husband, Jim, forgot his plungers to remove his Sclera contact lenses. We went to Dr. Hesterberg's office and his office staff said they had some but it would cost us $350.00 to get one plus an office visit. Oh, and they were very rude about it. I asked to speak to Dr. Hesterberg and they said he was not there. Then they proceeded to close their window. I have never been treated with such an uncaring attitude by professionals that are supposed to be concerned about our welfare. South Texas Eye Care Centers on los Ebanos and Ridgeline were very helpful and let us borrow their plunger to remove his lens. By the way, Dr. Roberto Olivares in McAllen was able to sell us two plungers for $10 each. Big difference from the $350.00 Hesterberg's office tried to charge us! My name is Rosa Kruse

Place is very unprofessional.. The doctor walked in to correct his nurse about having too many supplies in an office. Then few minutes calls him to tell him he didn’t do something right for another client!!! All while the nurse is doing initial evaluation.... 🤦🏻‍♀️ …
