Cool, uninterested, seemed bored & annoyed with my questions. We are talking about MY EYES, MY ABILITY TO NAVIGATE THE WORLD ALONE & in my 70s. I WAS/AM scared & would have preferred a better "bedside" manner, but i guess that wasn't what …

My grandmama has been coming here for years now and she loves her Doctor. He has been extremely helpful and very caring with her. Very attentive and if there is an issue, quick to refer her to the appropriate doctor. Highly recommend him. He's an incredible Doctor.

Went to two optometrist who all recommended my dad get eye surgery for cataracts and pain. Than had several appointment with Dr. Medina and all he recommended was eye drops. After a few months, Dr. Medina left Azul and Dr. Choi took over. Dr. Choi highly insisted on cataract surgery. I don’t understand why Dr. Medina did not want to operate. I believe he just didn’t want deal with it and kept delaying which should be a crime.

Dr. Medina is an excellent Doctor, you feel comfortable with him and you can ask any question regarding your visit. He will answer them all but, also he lets you know what is best for you and that at the end is your decision.

Dr. Medina was very prompt, thorough, and informative with my recent eye exam at his office. His associates were cordial and thorough with their portion leading up to Dr. Medina's conclusion!

So glad you asked for my feedback. The opthamologist I've been seeing annually for twenty years for eye exams found cataracts, and since he doesn't do surgery for HMO patients, he told me to have my GP refer to an opthamologist in my plan. …

The stuff was very nice , receptionist was very friendly BUT !! . The doctor needs to work on his social skills.. didn’t appreciate his attitude , his knowledge was fine but very poor communication, it felt he literally wanted us to get up and leave as soon as possible. I have waited 3 months for that appointment, and we were out 25 minutes later minus 7 minutes at the waiting , another 10 minutes of waiting for the dilate drops to work on , eye exam by his technician took forever! So basically doctor saw my son for 5 minutes with a feeling that we need to be rushed . Like we annoyed him. Never coming back .

My husband scratched his eye, and it became swollen and red. He went to see Dr. Medina. What a horrible idea! I don’t know if this doctor is just tired of being a doctor or if he sees his patients beneath him, but he has to be the rudest …

Dr Medina and Staff offered a warm and caring health relief experience. Specific in diagnosis, informative on what concerns need consideration, and quick rescheduling of a return visit to check outcome from administered prescription treatments is what a patient can appreciate. In my past healthcare experiences, this type of service alone is felt to be extraordinary. But Azul Vision's protocol adds an additional layer of pleasantry and respect to their Care. For this, I place them above the rest. Many thanks to my vision care Family. SEE YOU AGAIN SOON!

First appointment was greeted by a rude unprofessional assistant. She was training another assistant that was pretty nice. The rude assistant would clearly get frustrated with my grandfather when my grandfather couldn’t understand what she was asking. They sent us elsewhere. Went back today for a consult with the surgeon. Just to tell us they didn’t have a surgeon doing surgeries and if we wanted to cancel our appointment? Why didn’t they call us beforehand? They asked if I wanted a consult at a certain office (that I know they’re not doing consulta with surgeons) for that same reason and I just thought “how disorganized”.plus, my grandfathers information and picture were placed on a clipboard facing forward for all who walked by to see. Not a place I’ll be taking my grandfather back too.

I arrived about 20 minutes early for my appointment and I was surprised to be taken care of almost immediately. I had my eyes dilated, so I had to sit for 20 minutes before Dr Smyth Madina entered my exam room. I am susceptible to ghlocoma so he wants to monitor my eyes every 3 to 4 months.

If you care about your family members whatsoever, find a different ophthalmologist. I brought my mom here for her severe red eye and headaches. Dr. Medina stated he believed it was scleritis and sent us away with testing for autoimmune diseases. I asked if he could prescribe anything for my mom such as steroid eye drops (as recommended everywhere online) and he said no. Just take ibuprofen. All the testing came back that my mom had no auto immune diseases, and the rheumatologist was SHOCKED Dr. Medina didn’t prescribe anything to my mom. He even called Dr. Medina himself because he didn’t believe me! He called me back to apologize on Dr. Medina’s behalf. Every family friend doctor I called was also so confused and shocked. I left a message with Dr. Medina’s office to request a call from him, and the receptionist said “he doesn’t call patients.” Weird? Every doctor I’ve ever had has called to check on their patient. I asked her to at least leave a message to create a follow up appointment to figure out what’s wrong with my mom’s eye. Never got a call back. Ended up taking her to the hospital and got referred to a new ophthalmologist that IMMEDIATELY prescribed the eye drops and actually cared about her as a patient. Made follow up appointments immediately. Literally, go anywhere else. Dr. Medina is obviously over his career and nearing retirement, ultimately ruining his bedside manner and caring enough about for his patients. Find someone younger who actually still has some empathy left in them.

I am new patient. Upon arrival staff was promt and kind. Unfortunately I felt Dr. Robert Smyth Medina was dry with his responses and literally was done with the examination in less than 5min. Not that I need a longer visit but his attitude made me uncomfortable to even ask more questions. I will not return for a annual visit.

I like Dr.l Smyth-Medina, but the staff is problematic. I felt they were skipping things that needed to be done. Whether lazy or just in a hurry, I was not impressed. I have been going to North Valley Eye for close to 20 years. Dr. Smyth-Medina is apparently leaving in a few months. I will not be returning to Azul. Also, their eye glasses / optical department is very expensive compared to others.

Opthamologist rude and unpleasant. No explanation caused me to plead and convince him to elaborate and explain the findings. Dismissed the cause and history of occurence that cause my vision loss. Absolutely terrible experience. The initial tech and staff provided proper care and treatment. Attentive and answered my questions with ease. They were great!

I had a positive experience at Dr. Smyth-Medina's office; it was my first visit to an opthalmologist. The staff was friendly and helpful. The assistant handled his duties in a friendly and professional manner. Dr. Smyth-Medina did his exam and gave me clear and important information about my eye health. Thank you.

The experience overall was good. I don't like the hypocrisy of the mask. Either everyone wears one at all times or no one wears one. The tech that I saw first was great. Made me feel comfortable and answered my questions. The doctor was okay. I didn't feel as relaxed with him. I was concerned with a condition I was diagnosed with a few years ago and he didn't really address it. I was torn between a 3-star and a 4. 4 stars because the tech was so nice.

Only saw the dr about 8-10 minutes. Didn’t really to listen to what I said or asked. Only wanted to sell me glasses. I went because I had an eye exam & was told I had cataract in my eye. I have partial blocked vision. He said it wasn’t bad & to get a stronger prescription. So I said thank you & he took me to make another appointment😆I told the gal that u had no intention of ever coming back again! Dirty old office old equipment! They forgot to tell me to bring a driver because they dilated my eyes!! I could hardly drive home! Dr just told me to use the paper glasses at the desk. Again not recommend him at all!!
