My experience with Dr. Ward himself has been positive, however his office staff has acted in a manner that has not only been rude, but also deceptive, covering one act of untruth with yet another lie to cover the previous lie. I had an office visit on Feb. 19, 2018 and needed a new, stronger distance contact lens which I was told would be ordered and "in" within 7-10 days. I travel a lot for business so it was VERY important to get the corrective ASAP. After much "ado", my lens finally arrived on APRIL 5!! The truth was that my lens hadn't even been ordered until MARCH 15, nearly a month after my office visit. I got the old "lost in mail" story, which didn't explain the nearly 4 week delay in ordering it in the first place. When I discussed the situation with the office manager, I was told to find a new Dr.

My mom had an appointment to see Dr. Ward. The story is that he booked so many people because he would be off. She currently has been waiting almost 2 hours to get into her appointment!! Other people waiting ALMOST 3 HOURS!! Absolutely ridiculous. She had to cancel her dentist appointment that she had later on in the day it took so long to be seen. Not only that she had to leave work early to make her original "appointment" time. His own office staff even thought it was ridiculous. Extremely rude and greedy. Would recommend you seek a doctor who values other peoples time and money instead of one who only sees in dollar signs. Pathetic.

I've been a patient of Dr. Wards for over 20 years. He is great but his office staff changed a few years ago and it's been a horrible experience every time I've called. I've been trying to get in after I suffered from being very ill from covid, I was on a ventilator and put in an induced coma. I had kidney failure, heart failure, and going was through chemo and dialysis plus 2 cardioversions to shock my heart out of Afib. . I had 5 specialist I was seeing. I tried several times to get an appt to see Dr. Ward and was always put on periods of very long holds not understanding why. They were rude to me and telling me it had been too long since I'd seen Dr. Ward. I needed to have my eyedrops for glaucoma and also a full exam. Photos of my optical nerve & field test etc. Every time I would call I was put on hold then told to go back to Dr. Bloom who I got in to get eye drops within a days time and eyes examined but no photos. Today May 29, 2025 I was put on hold 1st time 5 minutes. No reason why. I asked to talk to Lou the office manager and he told me I was fired as a patient. It's a real shame the office staff has come to this treating sick elderly patients like they are nothing. Lou has worked in that office behind the scenes for over 20 years and always acted peculiar but today topped it all off telling me I was fired after 2 cataract surgeries with Dr. Ward. Id like to speak to Dr. Ward about what I've been through dealing with his staff.

Dr. Ward saw me for an ER visit. When he got called in by the Kettering ER he offered to meet me at his office instead (where he had all of his equipment so he could do a thorough exam and not have to reschedule me to his office the next day). He was very professional an kind and thorough. I ended up having a detached retina and he referred me to a retinal surgeon. When trying to make annual checkup appointments for the rest of my family, he is in such demand that I found out he has a 2 month waiting list! So call early if you are trying to schedule exams for kids on breaks/vacations.

Dr. Ward was very helpful and thorough in explaining everything relative to my situation with my eyes and cataracts, particular challenges and options. He was patient in listening to my eyes/glasses history and interests. He followed up the operation on the first eye (and the standard “day after” follow Up) with a further review and tests to determine if we could work with a slightly different standard focus lens on my second eye so I could have both distance and reading and not require glasses. This came out perfect, can’t imagine better. His work with the team at the Dayton Eye Surgery Center was a great experience for both operations (he also works with Kettering Hospital, which I’ve heard good things about also). I appreciate my friend recommending Dr. Ward to me and I highly recommend him and his assistants to others.
