East Bay Retina Consultants is an excellent practice. I was referred to them by my doctor at Stanford. I highly recommend Dr. Alexander Dillion, MD. He is a first-rate practitioner. He is a good listener and explained my medical prognosis in understandable ways. He diagnosed me with Macular Degeneration. I was not expecting that at all. He was calm and reassuring and explained a reasonable course of action for the beginning stages of the issue. He is diligent in following up every six months. I feel confident in his care. The practice is easy to reach and easy to schedule appointments with. The office staff is helpful. Five stars.

The people here are incredible and caring. The specialists are top-notch and qualified, they have varied medical experieces and have studied at many prestigious medical schools. They have INVENTED specific surgical methods and are constantly studying and researching to bring the best to their patients. They are so specialized, that few other doctors can be found in California with the same credentials. The medical assistants are amazing, as well. Always smiling, personable and insightful. The level of skill amongst them is astounding- many of the medical assistants have gone on to become doctors themselves. If you have any problem with your retina/back of the eye, this is definitely the place to go! I couldn’t recommend this little gem of an clinic enough.

Had an emergency and was looking for an opthomologist. Found them through my provider and confirmed by phone they took my plan. After heading all the way there and waiting an hour, I was told they had made an error couldn’t take my plan. Can’t speak to the care itself, obviously, but my experience wasn’t good. That said, they do take last minute appointments for emergencies. They also didn’t have much seating or an automatic door - seems this would benefit a lot of patients there.
