I visited this place 3 years ago and had a pleasant experience. I wanted to have another appointment done in the near future and called to setup an appointment. Receptionist seemed in a rush to get me off the phone and lacked patience when I became flustered for not having information ready. While not having the information ready was definitely my fault, hearing the receptionist complain about me before hanging up the phone made me decide to look for another eye doctor.

My experience with East Texas Vision Center was absolutely the worst, most disappointing in my 14 years of routine eye exams/service with a number of various clinics. The initial exam was fine; the facility itself is more dingy and bland than I'm used to, but not a deal breaker. The optometrist was short and to the point; not stellar but not rude or incompetent. I was sent home with a trial pair of lenses and told to return in a week for a quick check, which I did and ordered - and PAID for - my supply of lenses at that time. I was told I'd be contacted in approximately seven days when they arrived. Almost two weeks later, I hadn't heard anything so I called for an update. Initially, I was rudely told that I never came in for my one week follow up/for check. Once I was able to convince them I not only had come in, but had paid for the lenses, I was told simply "Ohhh. Yeah, they're not here." And silence. I'm the one who had suggest to this girl that perhaps she track the shipment, call the sender, and otherwise do their job and a little bit of investigative work. It was met with a haughty "I guess I can call." and was hung up on. Almost two weeks after that, as I was preparing to demand a refund and my prescription, I was notified the contacts had arrived. Great! Except as I went to put in a brand new pair straight from the packaging, one had a tear in it. Again, it was met with "Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do." Absolutely zero offer to replace the lens, to contact the manufacturer, nothing. I worked customer service my entire life, and have maintained my composure with these people while pointing out their utter lack of customer service and even basic friendliness, in an effort to help them improve; i have been interrupted, eyes rolled at, sighed at, and hung up on. Noemi is the name of the young lady who I spoke with both times. These business owners could benefit from a serious overhaul in how their front desk personnel are representing them.

This vision center deserves less than one star! The doctors are kind during the exam and educate you very well on whats going on with your vision. However, the staff who run daily operations are a bunch of ninnies who are concerned with chit chat and pay no attention to the patients or their paperwork. Since its the staff you are mainly dealing with, I highly suggest that you seek your vision care needs else where. This place had misplaced my insurance information, refused to call the correct phone number on my paperwork, didn't place my glasses order for 3 weeks and then didn't contact me for over 2 weeks. I have been chasing them to follow up for all their faults. This is the worst vision center I have ever had the displeasure of using.
