Eastgate optical has a fantastic doctor who is knowledgeable and wonderful personality. He does great work to ensure you are seeing well on the way out the door. However that is where the pleasure ends. The staff have made multiple errors on billing and failure to disclose costs prior to rendering services, changing their “standard” eye scan from a $35 procedure to $115 without disclosing the change. One would not expect additional cost year to year, especially since the test is exactly the same and only done as an additional review by the computer. When asked about additional cost they were unwavering and unapologetic. I basically asked them to waive the fee as i didn’t ask for the additional scan and i would pay the $35 for the remaining scans as in previous years. I told them that if they say no, i would pay the bill and then take my business elsewhere. They chose to hold strong, as is their right, so i have pulled my business, which is myself and 3 family members, as is my right. The products are good but very pricey.

Have been going for greater than 15years. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, doctor is patient and answers questions. However, expect to spend time waiting to be seen and then waiting for the doctor. Could be my luck, but i am often left waiting for the doctor. Their frame selection is good.

Dr. Winbigler is a solid eye doc, however you should always expect to wait to be seen. During my most recent visit I was not seen by the doctor until 40 minutes after my appointment time. You usually don't wait that long to be seen by the technician staff, but you'll end up sitting in the exam room for 10-20 (or more) minutes
