I have edited my review now for the third time. My original review was based on the experience with my initial visit. It was very upsetting for my husband to drive all the way to Charlotte to get my son's glasses to be turned away for not having a paper copy of his Medicaid card. It was Saturday and we were unable to get one from any of his doctors because they were closed. My son has special needs. He is learning disabled and one of the issues is his vision. We just found out about his vision impairment. I was so upset that Grady would not help us that day nor help us "creatively" resolve the issue. We had all of the insurance info & refferal, but he wouldn't bend about having the physical card. I can go on & on, but that's water under the bridge. After, I did change my review to 3 stars explaining that every one deserves another chance. I thought maybe it was just a misunderstanding. This week we got the card and my husband took my son back to Charlotte to get his glasses. Grady denied us service because he was personally offended by my original review & he thought I wanted to hurt his business. He was a complete jerk. My husband actually begged him to help Evan. He would based on his "feeling," I work in cus9service & wifi would never deny service based on being offended by a review. These reviews give you feed back about how people feel about the service they received. I just hope you don't treat your staff the way you treated us. They were actually sweet. Grady
I would never want to harm you or your business in anyway. If that truly was our motive then why would we have brought our disabled son back to get his glasses? Why would we have giving you the benefit of the doubt. Why would we have giving you a chance to prove us wrong. Today's visit confirmed my first review. Why did you make a little boy pay for your personal feelings against my review, which was what we experienced? Nevertheless. I have faith that you will learn from this. I pray that your heart will be convicted & you will handle this differently next time, because there will be a next time,. I really am sorry that my review angered you so much that you retaliated. Now that's some kind of man right there. We did solve the problem. It took an extra week, but we got that paper card that you mandated
Business is business. You denied my son?? My son?? Don't that bother you? Or are you really that petty & heartless. Grady. You accused me of trying to destroy your business with my review... well I don't have too because you are doing a fine job of destroying it yourself.

One of the few places that accept health insurance and they were friendly, although they take a while but my daughter's glasses arrived much faster... thank you very much.
I can't believe they won't be there anymore 😭, I hope you soon have a new space to continue with you.

I scheduled a 5pm appointment for today, July 20th back in June. I was looking forward as they were the most affordable and I do not hold eye care insurance. I arrived and after browsing for 30 minutes, I'd asked if the doctor was delayed. I was told that they operate on a first come, first served basis and I was forth in line! I left out of principle. I think it could be helpful to explain that when a person calls.

My prescription is strong enough that I can't live without my glasses. I can't watch TV, I can't drive without my glasses, and if a friend were to wave to me from a couple feet away I probably wouldn't wave back because their face would be too blurry for me to see. My vision is that bad! I also work in construction which means my lenses tend to get scratched up bad when I do demolition or work in crawl spaces. I decided to bite the bullet and make an investment and bought a pair of safety glasses. imo it's probably one of the best purchases I've made this year! Not only are my eyes completely protected but it also has the added bonus of keeping my more fragile glasses away from the abuse of work. I'm really happy with my purchase! :)

They had a low priced eye exam and a large selection of frames. I ordered a pair of glasses and contacts, which were ready within a week. Great customer service and had spanish-speakers!

This place takes Medicaid for glasses (which is nice because literally nowhere else will) but you have to bring your prescription and Medicaid card with you in person, there are no exceptions whatsoever. … More

Can you imagine this? The puppy chews up the eye glasses while I take a nap! I can’t see or read or drive without them, and my regular place won’t see me during the quarantine. But, Grady was the BEST! My neighbor dropped off the lenses at Eastway Eye Care. He came out to the car and she handed them to him in a bag. He asked her to wait, came back out to the car, and through the window gave a price and two choices of frames. In one hour, the glasses were done. They fit better than the old pair. Thank you, Grady. Your care and expertise saved me so I can carry on in these difficult times. One other thing: I live alone, so not being able to see was a real scare. Thank you!!!

How did you assume that I’m using Medicaid for my daughter. Why I can’t email you the prescription copy that I told you I lost.
Very rude acting like nice.
Will NEVER come back.

A few weeks ago we went to place an order for glasses, and we are still waiting for them. The estimated time for them to arrive has passed and we still don't know what will happen. If you could please contact me, I need the glasses.

I bought a pair of glasses 3 months ago and paid out of pocket. My car was stolen along with my new glasses, I asked now that I had medicaid how could I get a new pair asap. I was told pay full price again. There is absolutely no compassion or care at all for their clients. I will NEVER go there again.

Dr.Clements seemed nice and professional the Grady individual is not. False advertising. If you decide to try this office ask for all prices upfront. No authentic customer service. Be prepared.
In response to the owner response below.
You did not bill anything. I paid out of pocket with my debit card. The additional service I "requested" was the PD result. pupillary distance measurement. You charged additional for that only. Which was not communicated when I called nor mentioned as an additional fee. You all assumed that a customer would buy frames/ lenses from your selling department. Majority of optometry offices include that on a prescription in order for the individual to obtain eyeglasses regardless if they pay out of pocket or with their vision insurance. Your staff was rude period. Even your response is of ignorance to my initial review and violates my HIPPA rights so I highly suggest you alter it or maybe filing a complaint will help your business respect patient privacy rights. I do understand the healthcare consumers right for financial transparency and expect that as a healthcare consumer and worker myself.
