Elegant Eyes, where do I begin. I went there after the passing of my eldest son. They preyed on me, I brought my prescription in picked out a pair of frames. The slim lady told me if you want Transitions it'll be an extra $65 I said ok. Then Ms. Denise told me if I wanted the lines taken out that would be an additional $90 I said ok. Picked my glasses up 0 transitions still can't see anything on my computer at work! My momma always said it's unfortunate you can't patronize some Black businesses. This place is money hungry and don't give a dam about hard working people as myself. Please avoid this place. They're unprofessional from Ms. Denise to the gentleman whom answered the phone and proceeded to argue with me. All of them rude!!!!! Thank you for responding in a timely manner. Customers will experience exactly what I'm writing about. I'm done!!!!!

I can't speak negative about the Newark location however the East Orange location is bias I was told by east orange they won't service me or won't take my insurance and go to Newark it was said to me and a very prejudice manner so I made an appointment with Newark I don't know who owns the East Orange location but it was a very disappointing experience. I would have expected that kind of treatment in short hills or someplace like that not in lowly east orange.

On 3/20 I went in to the Broad Street location to get the frames tightened. Not only did they charge me $5 for it but they blurred my lenses! I didn't ask for my lenses to cleaned so now I can't see, not matter how many times I've tried to clean them. I would have went to my regular optician but they were out of my way and I had used Elegant Eyes in the past. This experience was not a good one and I will never use them again. I've never had to pay for tightening so I felt extorted. I should have walked out of there. If you were to get your frames tightened, make sure they don't alter your lenses to where they are unusable! Shame on them! Update 4/1/2021 (Not an April Fools joke!) Reached out to Denise the supervisor on the matter and she went above and beyond! No only did she replace my lenses (they were defective) but she gave me a huge discount for the inconvenience! When I picked up my frames, they were better than when I first walked in! I thanked her for her help and as a result, changed my review to 5 stars!
