We had the best experience with Dr. Henriksen! I have a son with Autism and Dr. Henriksen (and Ammon) were both so kind and considerate of my son. They were able to keep his attention and help him quickly. We had an experience with another doctor that seemed impatient and annoyed with my son’s special needs, and it always helps when the doctors are patient and kind.

After 110 minutes waiting, we had to leave. When I asked how much longer we would need to wait, she said, "I don't know" and then walked away. All of the seating in their waiting room was completely full, so we had to wait out in the building foyer, where we got to hear the curses from the exiting patients as they left the building, so it didn't sound like our experience was unique. I can't rate the Dr though, so maybe they're better if you actually get in? Maybe? From what I can see there are 4 and 5 star ratings for the doctors, and plenty of 1 stars relating really bad experiences too. Not that anything will change, but I would encourage the employees at Excel Eye Center to simply be honest with your patients. If there's going to be a crazy wait to hold the appointment, tell your patients. If something happens that causes your appointments to be pushed out over 2 hours, you need to let people know. Otherwise, it comes across (and almost certainly is actually the case) that you are intentionally overbooking your office out of greed and implying that your time is worth more than theirs, so they should shut up and wait until you tell them otherwise.

After asking around, Excel was recommended as a great pediatric optometrist. Unfortunately, we did not get this impression. They took no time to help our daughter understand what was happening or help her feel at ease. In fact, the doctor barely even spoke to her and didn't even smile. She was terrified and nervous and it makes sense why. It was a pretty cold environment.
