My exam at Exeter Eye Associates was a wonderful experience. The staff was helpful, friendly, and kind. I felt my eye exam was thorough and professional. There was no pressure to buy glasses from the retail space. Best of all, I got the right prescription and I can see! Thanks!

My experience at Exeter Eye Associates was very seamless. I made my appointment online, received multiple reminders before my appointment. I arrived at the office and the staff was very friendly, informative and helpful. Definitely would recommend them for your eye examination.

This is my second encounter with Dr. Mary Mathias, and as they say, 'first impressions make last impressions'. I've been coming to this office for 20 years, and I've never said this before about a doctor, but I refuse to be seen by her again. The first time I saw Dr. Mathias was in March of this year. I scheduled a last-minute appointment because I was experiencing some pain in my eye. Upon my check-in, I clarified that I wasn't there for an exam but instead for the pain I had. Dr. Mathias did not bring me to an exam room. She did not ask any probing questions. She did not conduct any assessment of the pain I was experiencing whatsoever. Instead, she referred me elsewhere. The second time I saw Dr. Mathias was for an exam in September. Her demeanor, or 'bedside manner', was overkill. In the span of 20 minutes (my exam), she said, "Everything's okay" six times. For a new or nervous patient, this would have set them off. Her manner of explaining what she was doing was almost childlike and downright unsettling. My opinion and rating of this office (5 stars!) are very satisfactory, and I will continue to see them, just not Dr. Mathias. It would appreciated if Dr. Norden is made aware of this. Greg

Dr Samji was prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, direct and efficient. She took the time to answer my questions and worked with me to develop a treatment plan without feeling rushed. It was a very pleasant experience.

This Eye Exam practice is first rate. Very accommodating with schedules. Exams are thorough & complete. No pressure to purchase eye wear. Proactive diagnosis of issues. Have seen both Drs over the years and have been pleased with the care. Prices seem reasonable, accept most insurance.

I honestly think Exeter Eye Associates was a waste of my time and money. Online scheduling was easy, check-in and pre-exam were professional, but later than my scheduled appointment time, despite being one of the first of the day. The office is clean and modern. My largest issue was with the eye exam itself, as the doctor spent maybe 30 seconds looking at my eyes or testing my prescription. This was a different doctor than I had booked my appointment with, and Dr. Ewa Mamber spent more time talking about her personal life than actually reviewing my eyes. The letters on the board were not even changed to actually evaluate my vision. The fact that I had to pay anything for this appointment felt like a robbery. I recommend looking elsewhere in Boston if you actually want your vision checked.

Dr. Norden does an excellent job. I’ve had contacts and eyeglass prescriptions with him for years and have always been very happy with the results. We just had our annual visit which was terrific as always!!

Dr. Norden is wonderful. He’s cared for our family’s vision for many years and we really appreciate that his affiliation with LensCrafter has continued. It’s a convenient location and appointments are easy to schedule.

I’ve always had good experiences at eye exams, but this one truly stood out as the most pleasant. Dr. Mary Mathias was amazing! She was lovely and took the time to explain everything she was doing in detail, answering all of my questions with patience and care. I’m genuinely looking forward to coming back, and I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a thorough and friendly eye care experience.

Dr. Matthias is super thorough and patient with me during my eye exam. Lens Crafter on Newbury Street has been great to me. I do hope it'll never change.

The woman at the front desk here (I think her name may have been Jenn?) is so so nice. I was out of contacts and she helped me out in a pinch. I will def be returning for my next exam here!

I had my eye exam at Exeter Eye Associates in Boston today. The online appointment booking was easy, the visit started right on time, and the exam itself felt thorough and professional. However, before scheduling, I had called to confirm the cost of the contact lens fitting and was told it would be between $60–$80. At checkout, I was charged $110, and when I asked, the receptionist curtly said it’s always $110. That lack of transparency and tone were disappointing, even though the rest of the experience was smooth.

Booking an appointment here is a waste of time. They will cancel on you the day of the appointment. It has happened to me repeatedly. I’m just over it at this point. People in Boston are busy. Text and email after text and email to make sure you confirm your appointment, only to cancel last minute. It’s terribly inconsiderate, if not outright disrespectful. My family will not be back again.

I don't know the name of the frontdesk person. She was extremely kind and helpful. Dr. Lance McNaughton took all the necessary time to make sure I would make the best decision regarding getting or not new glasses. He is very professional.

My appt with Dr. Ho was amazing. I loved that she explains things so easy to understand. She went out of her to make sure to make sure my eye prescription came out precise. This office is out of my way. I keep coming back for their great attention to the customer.

Receptionist and doctor were friendly, patient, and overall great. I've never had an unpleasant visit at Exeter. Other than trustworthy service, it's why I continue to come.

My insurance changed so I decided to give Exeter Eye Associates a shot. I have myopia so I always opt for retinal imaging. When I was seen by Mary Mathias, the appointment started routine and fine. She got to the retinal imaging and told me I have a hole in my right retina and to see a specialist ASAP because if I SNEEZED I could go partially blind. Excuse me? She referred me to the Opthalmic Consultant of Boston. Good thing I went, because the real doctors basically told me what she told me was a load of B.S. and not only is there no hole in my eye but a sneeze would NOT have me go blind. The amount of stress, tears, fear, and now another medical bill she instilled on me with her fake information is not something you can really let go. I'm never going back again.

I recently had an eye exam for my contacts and had a fantastic experience. The staff was friendly, and the optometrist was thorough and attentive. The entire process was efficient, and they took the time to explain each step. I left feeling confident in my prescription and grateful for the excellent service. Excellent service and a fast process. I arrived for my appointment, the receptionist processed my paperwork and proceeded with the pre exam immediately afterwards. I was then seen by Dr Norden and was out of there 40 minutes later. Dr. Norden was patient and very informative-he explained everything about my eye exam and answered all my questions. I definitely recommend Exeter Eye Associates for your next exam.

I have been getting my exams here for well over 10 years. From check-in (Gabe) to after-visit detailed explanation (Dr. Mathias) everything was friendly, efficient, and informative. Highly recommend!

Online booking process is seamless. Facilities are modern and centrally located. Unfortunately the reception staff are unhelpful and unfriendly and the practice takes on more appointments than they can handle. On Friday I waited 45 mins after my scheduled appointment before I gave up and asked to re-schedule for Monday (as I had paid for the exam in advance). Today I showed up and was told there was no record of me being there Friday and was wasked to fill in the patient details again, and to pay. I naturally asked them to look in their system and trace my journal and payment. After another 15 mins without a word from the reception I gave up and left. I’m sure they will pocket the pre-payment and probably invoice my insurance company too, although I was never allowed to see the optician I scheduled, twice. Maybe the opticians are good, I will never know, but their customer service staff and patient systems are not up to standard. Be aware.

Plan 2 hours of your day in order to get a contact prescription. When I went to my appointment they kept me waiting for 20 minutes and before I finished my exam they took the next client on time and forgot about me. So I have to come back another time to finish my exam even though I was there for an hour. Apparently it’s only important for them to be on time for their appointments for their non-minority clients. This place makes you jump through hoops for you to get you contact prescription that you already paid for. For a pain free experience I recommend you go somewhere else. Also, gave me an extra exam I didn’t ask for so I had to pay out of pocket for one of the exams I didn’t ask for.

John, the tech, was super patient and helpful with me as I struggled taking out my contact lens (first timer). John also walked me through my insurance and what was and was not covered. Dr. Nordan also did an amazing job explaining …

I've come here twice and received excellent service both time! Most recently was with Dr. Ho, who was spectacular! She explains everything clearly and thoroughly. She also makes sure to listen to you and really take your concerns and questions into consideration. The appointment was easy to schedule and quick and efficient. Everyone at the reception area is incredibly kind as well. Regarding covid protocol, I felt extremely safe and the density was low. Everyone was masked properly as well. Great place for an eye exam!

The exam was efficient and the team did a great job of communicating the fees associated with the tests being run. However, the optimist was unwilling to measure pupillary distance and I had to argue with her about a script for my dry eyes. The optometrist said ‘it’s medical’ when my pcp specially said I needed to see an optometrist for this condition. She eventually wrote the script, but not until I had to make a scene about it. I don’t understand why eye drops were ‘a thing’.

Fantastic. Dr. Ho was friendly, resourceful, and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend her to any new patient! LensCrafters support team (downstairs) was also very helpful...I was able to pick-out and check-out my new glasses at an unexpectedly fast and seamless pace.

It is always a treat to visit Dr Nordens office. The ophthalmic tech Elba was awesome and friendly. The whole exam was done efficiently and thoroughly. I would wholeheartedly recommend this office
