The front staff were nice. The Dr. Was very informative and efficient. Not a long wait at all.

Dr Sheidt and Dr Raciti both adressed an emergency eye problem that I have. Both doctors and the assistants were very kind and caring, I am thankful.

We had a very poor experience with the front desk staff here. I went with my elderly father to his appointment to see an opthalmologist. I'm sure the doctors here are wonderful. Unfortunately, my father never got the chance to see one. Upon entering and checking in for our appointment more than 15 minutes early, we were handed new patient paperwork. We finished this paperwork within 10 minutes of arrival. After waiting 45 minutes and seeing multiple patients go back before us, we politely asked the front desk staff for an estimate of how much longer the wait would be. A blonde woman was immediately rude to us. Before she even asked for my father's name, she said she "didn't know what to tell me." When we persisted and she finally asked his name, she found his file and accusingly told us we were supposed to bring the paperwork back up to the front desk once it was completed. I asked if that was the reason why we were still waiting after 1 full hour. The woman said yes, it was. I told her that staff should've checked on my father given the amount of time that had passed, as we clearly misheard her about bringing the paperwork back up to the desk. This was our first visit to the office and there was a glass pane separating us, which made it difficult to hear. The woman aggressively stuck her hand out towards my face to dismiss me, then loudly called me rude and told me to go sit down. Other staff members behind the desk were looking at us like we were crazy and completely out of line. Then another female staff member came up and said they were doing the best they could. We told her we understood that and were sensitive to it, but just had some questions. We had initially approached the situation very politely and did not expect the staff to escalate things like that. After this (much kinder) staff member walked away, we decided to cancel the appointment given how we were treated. We tried to get someone's attention once more just to let them know. It was the original blonde staff member who eventually came back over and aggressively said "you need to sit down" before we could tell her we wanted to cancel. When we were able to tell her, and asked to confirm that my father would not be charged for the appointment, she rudely said he wouldn't be. She looked like she was more than happy about our cancellation. No one offered us an apology. We were stunned and very upset by this situation. My father needed a specialist's evaluation and we had to schedule out one month to get this appointment. The majority of the patients in the waiting room were elderly and unaccompanied. I hope the staff does not regularly treat their patients this way when they had simply misheard instructions. It seems that the staff were busy, and the woman immediately decided to put the blame on us and quickly escalate the situation. I am a frontline caregiver (ER nurse) and have dealt with the rudest of rude patients and family members, and have never, ever treated a patient or their family that way, even in times of great distress. The front desk staff member's reaction was completely unwarranted and unfortunately, my 76 year old father will now have to go elsewhere.
