NO, NO, NO! I made appointments for myself and my mom earlier in the week, they said that they would text me the forms to fill out online. I did not receive them, so I called about 2:15 to confirm our appointments, they were a little huffy that I had not filled out the patient paperwork online, I said that I never received them. The girl on the phone was annoyed and said that they sent them several times. I inquired what number she had been calling. She repeated the number that she had, I corrected the phone number that they needed to send the paperwork to, of which they should have confirmed the contract number when I made the appointment, seeing how that was not the number I was currently calling from to make the appointment in the first place. They should be at least intelligent enough to notice that I was not calling from the number that was apparently listed somewhere on the screen in front of them and ask which number to verify the appointments with. Strike one. During that conversation I double checked the time of the appointments (here I will reiterate the fact that there were two appointments and not just one) Mine was for 15:45 and my mom's was at 4:15. Check. I get home and help my 86 yo mom get ready to go. I cannot rush her getting out the door, again, I will state she is 86, on 4 liters of Oxygen at home and her portable unit will crash if she maintains it at 4 ltrs, so we travel with her on 2 liters. She is a little oxygen deprived at that point and she is completely unable to walk fast. Oh, let me mention here that last week she had a heart cath procedure, and to top it off she is in need of foot surgery. With all these factors rolled into one, the when we get to Costco there is not a single handicap spot open adding to the awful degree of difficulty in getting her inside. We finally enter the optometrist office. By this point I was exhausted also, but..... the girl behind the receptionist desk made a Crack about us being 10 min late. Strike two. Then the girl in the little office piped up and said that she was not sure if she could get us both seen today because the other patients who are on time will..... STRIKE THREE! I do not know what came out of her mouth next, but I know what came out of mine. Yes, my voice was escalating at this point as I stated with part question, and part statement of fact "I am TEN minutes late!?" I do not know what they were saying, but I saw red and with a few choice words added, I stated that I do not have time for this. The receptionist actually started to snicker trying to repress a full out laugh. What kind of horse manure is this where you can treat people with such disrespect and disregard. It seems like such a small thing for someone to be only 10 minutes late, but if they knew the full story of the events of my day, I am certain that there would be true concern in their dealing with us only being 10 minutes late. I am going to verbally vomit for a moment, but I have been up since 04:30, it is not even worth going into how my day at work went, alas, when I got home to get Mom, it was 82⁰ in my house and now I had to contend with air conditioning personally. There was of course, other factors as well, however, I feel it is sufficient to say that my day went to crap in a basket all day long. 10 minutes, ten minutes, Ten....10... MINUTES! Why cannot people give others the benefit of the doubt, and ask if everything was alright and is there anything they could to do to help. THAT, is what the difference is between someone who just clocks in and out and those who genuinely care for others. I HAVE a Choice! I chose to use Costco. I will NOT make that mistake again
