I cannot recommend Dr. Deane enough. She is skilled, efficient, and has great attention to detail. She notices things about my eyes that other doctors have either overlooked or just not mentioned. I feel very safe with my vision in her capable hands! The office staff is also excellent, I am always seen at my appointment time and they are always friendly and helpful. I can also recommend the optical shop; I bought my latest frames from the Eye Medical Clinic, and over a year later they still look great! I would have never picked these frames for myself without their help.

Everyone was super helpful! I would give this place 5 stars but the front desk lady at Optics was not at all helpful. I was sent there by the eye doctor and when I got there, I tried to say I got send my the MD but no reply at first then proceeded to ask me what I needed help with as if I didn't say it at first. She was not at all helpful with my questions about contact lenses coverage and how much I would have to pay out of pocket. Poor attitude and just overall not helpful. She is not a good reflection of how helpful this place is!

I would give the staff friendliness 5 stars, but the overall experience 2/5 stars. I made an appointment with the ophthalmologist to get my eye angles checks before being dilated. I was called back after my appointment time and the eye medical assistant did a few tests before I waited in another waiting area for 40 minutes to see the ophthalmologist. I was there for my first appointment for 2 hours to spend 10 minutes with the physician. The physician was very nice and answered all my questions, but a lot of wasted time. I made another appointment with the optometrist to get my annual eye exam and to get my eyes dilated, the whole point of me seeing the ophthalmologist in the first place. For my optometrist appointment, it was the same thing, I was called back well after my appointment time, for a medical assistant to do some tests and wait in another waiting area. Both the ophthalmologist and the optometrist have an assistant on the phone dictating their notes during your appointment. The ophthalmologist explained to me the reason for this; however, the optometrist did not and I didn’t know she was doing it during our appointment. She started talking medical language that I didn’t understand and I was confused, only to realize she too, was dictating with an assistant via some sort of chat. I understand the reasoning for this; however, it felt very impersonal and some of the things they were dictating I didn’t understand and wasn’t explained what she was saying. She would say something and it didn’t sound good, to a non eye specialist patient, and in my head I was thinking, “is that bad? Should I be worried? It sounds bad.” It just felt like they were having a conversation you aren’t involved in, with you in the room. I wasn’t sure if she was talking to me, or her medical assistant. After my optometrist appointment, she called in some drops and convinced me to use a pharmacy I had never heard of, claiming they would take care of the prior authorizations and get it filled with no problem. Two weeks went by, and I didn’t hear anything from this pharmacy. I called the pharmacy and they said they said my insurance had no record of me. I called the eye medical clinic again and left a voicemail for them to call in the RX to my pharmacy. I waited the 48 hours for a call back and no one called, so I called again. I left another voicemail. I called the following day again and didn’t receive a call back. After 6 days, I called the front desk and asked them to help me and they were so very nice in solving my problem in a reasonable time and the prescription was called into my pharmacy by the following day. So, 3 weeks after my appointment, a prescription was in process for my drops. I went back to the clinic to get fit for glasses and the experience was pleasant and the woman who helped me was wonderful. She told it would take about 3 weeks for my glasses to come in because they were backed up from the holiday season. It’s now been 4 weeks and I have yet to hear about my glasses. To top it all off, I received a bill for $200 for the 10 minutes I spent with the ophthalmologist for my first visit. That was with insurance too. If they decreased their waiting times, didn’t dictate in front of patients, didn’t recommend pharmacies that can’t figure out insurance, returned phone calls and didn’t promise glasses sooner than they are able to receive them, I would have given them more stars. Needless to say, I won’t be going back and once again on the hunt for a good eye clinic.
