I needed to have a cataract surgery in my right eye. I was apprehensive and did a lot of research. I had complete eye exams in Pakistan, Canada and with two ophthalmologists in Houston, TX. I also went through the cost involved as I wanted upgraded, multifocal lens. I am happy to report that I chose Dr. Abbas. Twenty minutes after surgery I had 20/20 vision in the eye that had lost all vision. Also he charged 1/3rd of what other doctors had demanded. I highly recommend him. He answers all your questions and is highly professional.

Recklessness caused my vision loss!!! I had 20/20 vision in both eyes and anticipated good vision for years before this visit. Now, the future literally looks bleak! Whatever he put in my eyes, caused my vision loss!!! I refuse to call this guy a doctor. In March, 2019, height of Covid shut down, with new insurance and the need to see an Ophthalmologist to monitor my eye pressure, I scheduled an early morning appointment (first patient) with Abbas. First observation, a few bottles of eye drops used to treat patients were (uncovered) wide open. He numbed my eyes, dilated my pupils and checked my pressure. It was high, 28 in one & 25 in the other. He took pictures of the nerve and gave me a bottle of Lumigan, but told me only use it 2 weeks after returning to his office for a follow up. I had dilated my eyes many times before, but this time it was different. Seven hours after the visit, my eyes were still blurry, but now they felt like something was in them (debris). I tried calling his office to no avail. The next morning things were the same. By that time I was so overwhelmed with fear and concerned that I may be losing my sight, I checked myself into the ER. The doctors looked at my eyes and told me everything looks fine. I called Abbas a few days later to relay what was happening and he told me that I might be having an allergic reaction and that I should return to his office at the next scheduled time. I did but this time I declined his eye drops and settled only for a visual examination. I pressed him as to what might be going on. With signs of nervousness, he told me that he did not know. I left his office depressed, helpless, and angry. My eyes remained blurry, particularly in the left, for months. I scheduled an appointment in July with Texas Eye Associates and they were able to confirm what I feared, I had lost almost one third (1/3) of the vision in my left eye. Abbas made no attempt to reduce my eye pressure and I did nothing because I thought he knew what he was talking about. I assumed the bright light that flashed while taking pictures of the nerve was a procedure to reduce the pressure. I was wrong!!! The eye drops he gave me expired the same month of March. In addition, my copay is $15 per visit, but the front desk tried charging me $40 extra for my visit. You only got one pair of eyes and they are needed for life. Don't put them in the hands of anyone who simply calls himself or herself a doctor. There are alternatives, seek out the best, it's your eyes and money!
