My first couple of visits here were good. They changed my doctor on my second appointment for some reason which I was okay with at first. I came here having been in a lot of pain for a while not knowing if this is the right place to be. When the doctor couldn’t find anything and talked with my primary care doctor his attitude shifted. I was treated as though I was an annoyance to him and he didn’t want to be there. He became very adamant that my problem is “somatic”. I have since fired this doctor as well as my primary care doctor and found much better ones that care about me and believe me. I have been able to receive real care by wonderful doctors. I do not appreciate being gaslit into thinking I have some kind of mental illness instead of real pain. Psychiatry is not the profession of these doctors or my primary care physician so even the suggestion is insulting.
I’m giving 3 stars because the staff was wonderful and they did do all of the testing necessary. So if you have an obvious eye issue I’m sure this place might be good for you. But as a young woman with chronic health issues that are tricky to diagnose-it wasn’t very pleasant in terms of how I was handled by the doctor. I hope the next person like me who comes in you’ll do better by and believe them.

I was referred here by my rheumatologist to specifically look at my autoimmune conditions in regards to some recent changes in vision. I saw 2 techs/nurses prior to the doctor and had my eyes dilated. I appreciated their thorough testing, but when the doctor came in it was typical. Halfway through his telling me that my eyes looked normal (aside from poor vision), he asked if I had Lupus. This confused me because not only did my rheumatologist send over my complete chart, but I also filled out all the paperwork with detail including my diagnosed conditions, recent surgeries, and medications. So when he followed up that with a question on whether I was taking a certain medication commonly used with Lupus, I understood. He didn't read my chart. The visit was useless, and it was almost time for the place to close (my appointment was at 2:45). I got a new script for glasses, (my eyes changed slightly), but even after I listed my conditions it was clear he was not familiar with the ones who were my rheumatologist's primary concerns. I see her tomorrow so I will let her know so she doesn't refer others there. If you aren't familiar with my conditions, just say that. Don't waste my time. I did schedule a follow up but I'll probably cancel it because he didn't seem interested in doing any work on learning about my conditions and the options for treatment. The only specialist he mentioned referring me to was for retinal complications, which I don't have. Overall, cool, I got my glasses prescription updated. But I waited a month to get in here with the assumption they would read my chart and do their research so we can figure out why I am having issues and what can be done. There's studies on both medications and eye exercises, as well as the usual "not for this but the side effect fixes it" type options. They didn't know that. I could have gotten an updated prescription next day somewhere else instead of waiting a month so I do feel my time was wasted. The place is nice, but the 2 times I've given them a chance I have now had similar experiences. If you need basics and have time to wait, you'll be able to get what you need here. Otherwise, try somewhere else.

This is an Excellent office for eye care -and Kacy Pate is the best Optometrist I’ve ever had (I’m 71 and moved a lot so I’ve seen a lot of them). Everyone in the office is professional and welcoming. I offer the highest recommendation possible.
