This was the only optometrist I had since moving to CO in 2017. They were great up until my last appointment in 2022. I provided all of the necessary insurance information and verified they were an approved provider on the insurance list weeks before my appointment. The front staff did not check my insurance properly and I ended up having to pay out of pocket over $300 for a regular annual checkup. They stated because the service was already completed, I had to pay. They did not accept any responsibility for not thoroughly checking my insurance before my visit. It turns out that although they were an approved provider, the underwriting company was not on their approved list. Had they checked this BEFORE my appointment, I would have avoided paying out of pocket for a regular annual checkup. Regarding the front staff, I've had both good and bad interactions. Some are absolutely lovely to work with. The others either had an poor attitude or usually gave me an "I don't care. or That's not my problem." attitude. I've overheard gossiping a few times about patients, which is very unprofessional. It's really sad to see their rating from 6 years ago go from 4.5+ to 3.7 stars, and completely understandable as why it is lower today. *UPDATE* Thank you for your reply. However, what is outlined below was NOT my experience. No phone call or email was ever received regarding the insurance issue. As I've noted, nothing was mentioned to me about my insurance until checkout and wasn't mentioned until I asked questions as to why I'm paying out of pocket for the annual exam (not speaking about the extra add-ons I approved). Also, my plan was not dropped as I've been covered at all times since 2017. The office was listed as part of the provider network, I provided all of my information weeks ahead of time, and was not contacted about non-coverage. Again, lack of accountability has been my experience during my last visit and is the same experience again with the below reply. If you wanted to help, none was provided during my visit and after asking a lot of questions to get to the bottom of what was going on. Phone calls to the insurance company were made while I was standing in front of the front desk during checkout. Why wasn't this done before I stepped foot inside the office?

I am generally not one to leave bad reviews but.. oof. I have been coming here for 10+ years, maybe closer to 15 and the last couple of visits have been pretty bad. This most recent one (yesterday) was unfortunately the final straw as it's finally time for me to find a better facility. The young girls behind the reception desk were horribly unprofessional, gossiping about present and past patients loud enough for anyone in the lobby to hear. I showed up at 3:55 for my 4:00 appointment and was not able to see the doctor until 4:40. The doctor that I saw was perfectly kind and helpful, except for that he initially did not write me a prescription for contacts, although we did a contact fitting and I expressed that that was my primary need leaving the appointment. I communicated this to Jennifer, the woman at the check out desk, who went back and asked the doctor to release the contact prescription.. great, no problem. Once it was released, I noticed that the doctor had not updated the prescription and that it was incorrect. I communicated this to Jennifer and was told that it wasn't her problem, there was nothing that could be done, other than for me to wait until the current appointment was over, which could be greater than 30 minutes. At this point, it was already after 5 and seeing as I'm both 37 weeks pregnant and living across town, I chose not to wait. I've called the office 4 times today and have been unable to get ahold of anyone. Again, while I can't speak poorly of the doctor that I saw or any that I've seen in the past, the office staff is rude, catty, overall abysmal. I will not be returning and I would recommend that you save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.

Our family has all our eye exams performed here, and you cannot beat the warranty on lenses they offer when you buy glasses from them. They're always professional, friendly, and helpful.
