Absolutely the worst in patient and post op care. My Sister is a medical professional. had eye surgery and was very nervous. Requested Sedation .. Versed - which is standard in these procedures. Twice ignored. Third request she stated she was a medical professional and was finally given what she requested. After surgery in recovery she had severe pain in the eye which also produced a headache. Informing recovery staff they offer nothing. Then being infatic they finally offer tylenol. She is given documents for her release and told to sign them. She does and is told nothing else and is ushered out the door. She finds out hours after she get's home that she is supposed to use eye drops in her eyes every two hours but was never told this in recovery. After this the next day she lodges a complaint with the center. Two staff members blamed the surgeon's desired processes for the reason she did not get the sedation. My sister is fully qualified in conscious sedation so she knows what they are saying makes no sense. Concerning post op lake of care and instructions they said they will talk with the 'technician' Not only is this too late, I cannot understate you are not being tended to by a nurse post op. Just a tech. Avoid this Surgical Center at all costs... unprofessional or incompetent .. you decide. But the way my sister even as a medical professional was handled and talked to ... if you're a layman ... what chance do you stand?

This office really needs to get more organized! My mom had surgery this morning, and was told to arrive by 8am (1 1/2hr before surgery). Dropped her off at 7:55am. They told me to head back in two hours to pick her up. Given, I didn’t expect for them to be exactly on time. I arrive 2 1/2 hrs later, and guess what? SHE HASN’T EVEN GONE INTO SURGERY!!!!!! Are you serious?! The reason? Some patients arrived earlier than their scheduled time so delayed everyone else. Excuse me but the WHOLE purpose of scheduling is to designate a specified time. Why should my mom be pushed to the back of the line because other people can’t follow clear instructions?? Those people should have to wait and those who arrived at the correct time be taken in!!! They didn’t even have the decency or courtesy to call me and say hey, we are running behind, give us a call in this long to see if she’s ready. NOTHING. No apology, no consideration. I drove 40 minutes to get here and now stuck waiting around for who knows how long!! Beyond livid at how inconsiderate this office is and how poorly it’s run. GET IT TOGETHER!!!

This place is a great example of what happens when the government and politicians take huge donations from corporations and permit a monopoly like Northwell to be the only game in town when it comes to medicine on Long Island. I took my mother there for her cataract surgery today and got there at 9:20 for her 9:30 am appointment. At 11:30 am they tried to take another patient who had a later appointment with her same doctor. When we complained they paused for 20 minutes only to determine that my mother was next. There is simply no reason to wait 2 hours when you show up on time and no reason for their staff to be so disorganized that they don't even know who is next. Having a surgery is stressful enough without having to sit for two hours and fight for your place in line. Of course, when she got inside her doctor had no idea what was even going on. This is a very sad state of affairs and I have zero confidence in Northwell. It's just a monopoly money making machine who doesn't care about its patients (in my humble opinion).
