I have been with GA Retina for 20 years and with Dr. Jacobson for @ 10 years. Every visit has been professional and personable. Dr. J is a renowned ophthalmologist, retina specialist and surgeon who cares about his patients. I am 75 yrs old and diagnosed with AMD (wet) in my left several years ago. Recently Dr. J wanted a scan of my right eye again and is in process of evaluating if it requires starting injections. If so, he has realized it early on. I am so thankful for his expertise in the field. We are all made aware that because GR doctors do not want to do what may be necessary until scans, dilation, and exams are completed it is impossible to know how long an appointment will last. Therefore they make sure to notify each patient prior to their appointment to plan for at least a 2 hr. stay. They need to be thorough and make educated decisions. I am grateful for that and appreciate the thoroughness provided. My sight is VERY important and how ever long it takes is well worth it to me. Thank you Georgia Retina!

I have been receiving services from Georgia Retina for 11 years. I have always been treated very well by the staff and have gotten great eye care from the Doctors. I have seen several Doctors at different locations, but my primary provider is Dr Michael Jacobson at the Tucker location. Dr J is amazing, providing great care to a large number of patients, but always taking time to explain the diagnosis and presenting the treatment options. He is very knowledgeable and is always current on the latest innovations and drugs. I highly recommend this practice to anyone needing care.

In 2014, I visited my ophthalmologist due to vision concerns I was experiencing in my right eye. During the exam, it was determined that I possibly had a detached retina. The doctor scheduled an emergency appointment with Dr. Jacobson at Georgia Retina. This was during the latter part of the day, yet the staff was accommodating to my unscheduled appointment and had me come in immediately. Dr. Jacobson confirmed that I did have a detached retina and he performed surgery the next morning. While all detachments are serious, some are more serious than others. Mine was in the "more serious" category. Dr. Jacobson saved the vision in my eye. He has been treating me ever since to ensure that eye stays healthy. Yes, the appointment duration may be longer than what you are accustomed to, but I understand that Dr Jacobson is a specialist and his expertise and treatment doesn't have a time-stamp because each patient has a unique situation. I would much rather have an experienced doctor who does a thorough exam and treatment than one who is on a timer and rushes thru my exam to get me out the door within a certain time frame. In my case, for example, there are times where a patient may have an emergency situation which may result in an extended wait time for another patient. When I visit, I make sure I have adequate time allotted. I highly recommend Dr. Jacobson.
