I attempted to do a walk-in today, and it went south. The optometrist was manning the front desk, i was about to fill out the form and he told me to sanitize my hands prior to touching the pen. No problem, I told him I have my own pen, I pulled it out of my fanny pack and he told me to wash my hands anyway because when he examines my eyes in the examination room I would be touching the equipment??? Immediately I felt a certain type of way, he jumps up and shuffles his way to the back because I would not conform, very poor manners. I would not dare step foot in that place again. The owner just stood there and watched the entire scene play out, he did not say a word. On my way out, another customer said I don't blame you, he was really rude to you. I normally go to KATZEN eye group, I saw the small business there and tried to patronize them but with attitudes like that, I will take my Carefirst card elsewhere!!

I was seen at Global Vision Center on October 12, 2022 to get my annual exam and glasses. I figured it needed to start wearing glasses now due to constant headaches/migraines I have started suffering from. I have been satisfied until my most recent experience last month (October 2022). I was seen and told I needed glasses. I said ok, then I went ahead and paid to have glare reduction & tint added and was told that they would be ready within 10 business days. The total, along with my script for a total of $143. I have not received an update so decided to call... after the 12 day mark. At first the voicemail stated they were closed due to covid for a week, with no real date as to when they would return. I let the week go by, still no update. I decided to call again, this time with NO voicemail message, just rang and rang and went to a FULL Voicemail Box. Now obviously frustrated, I decided to go by the office. Of course, the office is closed, no lights on but I can visibly see 2 people in the office packing boxes; Dr Kitterman and an elder lady. Dr Kitterman, hesitant to come over and talk to me, eventually came over and explained that he was leaving the practice due to the lack of communication. He pretty much has no idea of what is going on with the owner Mr. Kevin A Smith, ABOC. Dr Kitterman, is truly a nice Dr who is very professional and knowledgeable. I enjoyed him being my Dr. My only gripe is that he could not give me my glasses or any info as to if they were at the store from being tinted or another copy of my script so I could get my glasses elsewhere.
Upon looking at my claim information online, the claim is wrong. I was not seen by whomever Valerie Smith is. I have never met her. The two times I have been serviced here, Dr Kitterman administered my exam.
My frustration is with Mr. Kevin. This is totally unprofessional and wrong. So in my search to find answers I have decided to dispute the claim on my insurance company as well as my bank so that I may go elsewhere to get my eyes re-examined and my glasses made.

This was a very unpleasant experience from the start. I chose this place because of a referral. At my appt. it was over crowded. They couldn’t find my child chart who had previously been there. I got a call to pick up my trial contacts and sent out the door with no instructions on card or to ensure I knew what I was doing. I had to call back to see which lens went in each eye..
When I wore the trial, after a couple weeks I noticed I couldn’t read close up. I was told I need to wear reading glasses with my contacts. I have never heard of such a thing. At the very least, the Dr would bring you back in to ensure they had the correct prescription assigned.
Spend your hard earned money elsewhere!!!!!!!

My children and I had a appointment all at the same time. The Woman doctor there was so comforting!!!! At first is was like she was talking my head off but she REALLY new her craft to the point I was so eager to learn!! It took a while but I felt like I knew what to expect, what I should know, and to treat my eyes like I never knew before. When we leave an appointment with a new doctor my children and I always talk about the experience. My son said the same about her talking but she made him feel really comfortable. Kind of like a sec mom that could help him with his eyes!! My daughter relaxed with her shades on with no complaints!! Which is not normal!! She felt confident that the doctor knew what was best for her vision!! All and all we are definitely going back. If anyone can help my children and put it so they WILL LISTEN?!?! Gets five stars for me!!

I ordered and paid for a pair of glasses on November 14, 2022 There has been a note on the door stating office closed due to illness for at least the last 3 weeks. I have called but there is no answering machine on to leave a message. Kevin I am disappointed with your business practice. There should be somebody available to address your customer's needs.😫

BE AWARE OF THIS PLACE !! If I can give no star to this place I would, but I had to give at least one in order to leave a review. For about 2 months now I had an appointment scheduled for 8/30/2025 at 1 PM. I came home from Virginia today only for this appointment, only to find a written note at the door that they’re closed for Saturday before Labor Day!!! I am beyond frustrated and couldn’t believe it. Don’t they know how to look at their schedule?. Don’t they know how to use the phone and reschedule customers? Speaking of them appreciating us and our time. Who in the world in this century leaves a note at the door and hopes customers will be happy to come to the closed door and read a note?? Note even enough decency to update the store (or whatever this is) website with the hours. Oh, yeah, that is probably out of their reach. Too much to do it.
And I should have known better and not to go back, since 2 years ago I went there only to get my glasses with the prescription from different doctor, only to find out when I called that same doctors for my next appointment for them to tell me that I will have to pay out of pocket since I already used my exams money for that year. Upon checking with my insurance, I realized that Global vision not only charge me for the glasses and my insurance as well, but they also FALSLY afield the claim with my insurance for the exam. Fraud right there, however at the time I thought that mistakes happen.
But after today’s experience I know this place all together is a mistake. So, be aware please.
I left them a voicemail expressing my disappointment and dissatisfaction, but do I think that dear Mr Kevin will call back?!?! I highly doubt.
So, I just want everyone to be aware if you decide to do the business with this place.

The new eye doctor was great and made me feel welcome. The glasses that insurance cover isn't too good cause they break easy, but the designer glasses seem to be more sturdy

Best optical experience ever. Service was professional and excellent. Additionally, there was a large selection of glasses that were included in my insurance plan. They are also affordable. My grandson received a thorough exam and glasses for less than $150.00.

Her eyeglasses were paid for and all through her father's insurance through his job like how do y'all even call yourself a business this is terrible terrible terrible terrible terrible and the eye doctor is rude

Employee Kevin is very polite on the phone However, I've went there twice this past week 30 minutes to an hour prior to the time they are supposed to close & even confirmed the closing times with him prior to coming. Both times I pulled up they were closed. I am very disappointed as I just needed to fill a prescription for my glasses.

Took almost a year to receive my son's contact lenses. If I hadn't called to see if they were ready, I don't think I would have ever received one. Very nice people, but the follow up with making calls to patients keeping them informed or any type of communication makes it bad for business. Guess I'll have to find another eye doctor for my son despite the convince due to the location of Global Vision Center.

2 bad experiences at this location. Communication is horrible. On first visit, went to wrong location to learn they’d moved to a new location. Once arrived, didn’t get seen for 3 hrs. Got a call that my new glasses were in by employee “Jordan” and that the facility would close at 1p.m on Wednesday. Arrived at 12:47 p.m to a closed facility. So now I must plan to visit on another day when they’re open. I give this place 10 thumbs down 👎🏿 already talking with insurance company to switch doctors.
