We are beyond crushed and disappointed. We have been with Golden Vision and the team including original owner Dr Chang for 15 plus years. We flew to Irvine while living in SF to maintain our relationship. We have spent thousands on exams, expensive ICI Berlin and Makita frames and progressive lenses. Customer care has always amazing. So imagine our surprise this week when, after ordering lenses for 3 pairs of glasses we were told the “lab broke your ICI Berlin frame and cannot make your lenses unless you buy a new frame”. While company rep Zac was helpful and zealous in trying to persuade Golden Vision’s corp owners to own the mistake and make good the replacement price of a new frame, the company refused. They demanded we pay with oir frame insurance (which of course meant we coudnt use the insurance for its intended purpose —buying new frames!) AND pay out of pocket $300. So a total of $550 to pay for their breakage. We agreed to use our insurance but would not pay an extra $300 for the premium ICI Berlin frames they broke (btw lenses were $400) Bottom line after four calls in which rhey actually increased our out of pocket we finally explained that no, we would not pay for their breakage and unless they agreed to make good, we would pull $900 in sales for 3 sets of lenses and all future business. They said ok. Sorry to see you go. So a really great business built around customer care let $900 walk rather than make good on their problem. Recap: $550 frames broken by GV lab. We agree to use our $250 insurance toward replacement. GV then asks us to pay the remaining $300. They would do NOTHING to make good AND let $900 in sales go to avoid paying essentially half of the repair cost. My math is rusty but they spent $900 to save $300 AND lost a 15 year customer with a future lifetime value in exams, lenses and frames of maybe another $10k! Corporate owners are ruining a wonderful business and punishing both the wonderful GV team and their long time customers. Sad.

WOW. Zach is literally the best technician and representative of an optometry company I have ever met. He is precise, meticulous, friendly, caring and customer centric. He fixed a very difficult pair of glasses that were in pretty bad shape due me stepping on them in the middle of the night. Because of his care, quality of skill and timeliness, I can now see with glasses again. I am now going to send my kids here for checkups. This is the #1 optometry place in Irvine because of Zach and the friendly, kind and knowledgable receptionist named Karina. Karina was also a great listener, helpful and informative beyond most receptionists. This is a 5 star place- please do your eye care here if you're in this area!

It was an absolute pleasure meeting Dr. Fan And being fitted for my first pair of glasses, something that I believe can be a stressful process, but the team here made me feel comfortable and at ease! Thank you!

I've been a patient here for almost 20 years, and have referred others here with great results. Always a perfect experience in dealing with front office staff or any of their doctors. The equipment they use is well maintained and constantly updated. They also invest in a very deep inventory of glasses and contacts so sometimes you can get your contact lenses on the spot as opposed to waiting a week or more at other chains. Word of advice to others - Check your insurance coverage before going... Or even signing up with the insurance. My insurance changed many times over this period and some companies are not as good as others, so it's really not the clinic's fault. So you might want to one-star the shady insurance companies... not the messenger.

I’ve been coming here my whole life but today I had an especially great experience. The staff at the front desk were very courteous and pleasant. I came 10 minutes early for an appointment at 2:30p and they did not hesitate to get me started right away. I went in for an annual eye exam and was seen by Dr. Jennie Fan, who was fantastic. Not only was she very knowledgeable and empathetic, but she went above and beyond to answer my questions that I had about my poor uncorrected vision and vision requirements for military aviation. She dedicated what felt like an extra half hour to help address my questions and concerns about my eye health, for which I’m very appreciative and grateful. Thanks a bunch to a great team experience!

Golden Vision staffing provide excellent quality of customer service and are always staying in touch with their clients! I have been seeing Dr. Jennie Fan at Golden Optometry in Irvine for more than a decade for routine examinations and aging eye problems. Dr. Fan is very caring, never rushed during my visits, is an excellent listener and explains everything clearly. I highly recommend Dr. Fan not only for her amazing patient care and friendly service but also her diagnoses and treatments are highly accurate. (Oct 2021). My family and I have been seeing Dr Lena Chang and Dr Jennie Fan for the past 20 and 10 years respectively, and it has always been the best experience for eye care at Golden Vision Optometry. I had personally been to several optometrists in the past and none of them can compare to Golden Vision for the level of friendliness and respect for the customers. The doctors' and staff pay close attention to details and always explained thoroughly what needs to be done. The place is also very clean and the wait time is usually less than 15 minutes except for Saturdays. (2017).

Replacement has not been followed up, prepared or updated. I will not be using your services ever in the future again. And as you don’t seem to care about where my order is at this point. I might as well cancel and move on to a more responsive provider. You obviously have very limited ability to care for your customers. 3 Months After Service - I ultimately purchased less expensive lenses. I was assured by the staff at Golden Vision that my refund will reflect in my debit card account in about a month. I have patiently waited for longer. There has been no follow-up, no refund. Golden Vision Optometry is thus a scam, I will never visit this store again - ever. Untrustworthy, Unreliable, and Unprofessional - that is the summary of Goden Vision Optometry for anyone reading this.

Dr. Fan helped me with my eye exam and prescription and made everything easy to understand. Karina was amazing to talk to and helped me choose between prices without any pressure. Staff very friendly and Dr. Fan was very helpful by telling me what was happening next. I've worn glasses for a long time (I'm 72) and I've had many eye exams. She was patient and for the first time ever, I saw my own eyes and compared to examples of eyes that had macular degeneration, etc., and could see "with my own eyes" what she was diagnosing for me. I had "nothing exciting" ... her words" and was pleased to know my eyes were in "fine shape for a many my age." I was pleased with the thoroughness and professionalism of everyone, and that deserves a 10 in my book.
