Had an appointment on 11/14/2023 at the Bryan, TX location. Absolutely horrible experience. I have two separate insurances. All I wanted was a basic eye exam and to get my vision prescription updated. The front desk attendant tried to get me to sign a form authorizing a full 3-D scan of the eyes for an additional $39.00 that insurance doesn’t cover. I refused to authorize. Then I’m led back to the eye exam room. The technician then tries the same tactic. I refused. She tries to tell me it’s state law that requires this particular exam. Being a retired State Trooper I asked her to recite me the LAW. She froze and became agitated. She then stated she would have to get the eye doctor to talk to me. I wait 20 minutes. Finally the doctor comes in and tries to get me to sign the form. Again, I said I don’t want that procedure. I just want the old fashioned eye exam required to get me a new prescription. She refused!!! Said I really needed this 3-D scan done by a computer. I refused. She said she couldn’t help me then. Corporate policies trying to scam everybody out of more money. I walked out.

Dr. Kavanaugh was great. If this rating was based on her alone, I would give 5 stars. My 1 star reflects the poor customer service by the other staff. They are not friendly, and acted like they were being inconvenienced despite me being the only customer shopping at the time. I was not offered assistance with finding frames within my budget (under $165) so I decided to leave and look elsewhere. An hour after my exam, I called them for my pupillary distance (PD) as it wasn't noted on the Rx. I was told they only take this measurement if I purchase glasses from them. I would have to come back in and pay $15 for the PD measurement despite having just paid for the exam.

I have seen negative reviews and I honestly am amazed. My experience with Greene Eyes has never been anything but positive! The front office workers have always been very pleasant and friendly to me and Dr. Mindy is absolutely wonderful! I wouldn't go anywhere else!!
