Great experience at Houston Vision Center! We were greeted very warmly at reception, and Dr. Somaira Zia was incredibly kind and a great listener. She took extra time to understand our problem and didn’t rush us at all. Really appreciate the care and attention—highly recommend!

Amazing service. Communication is amazing. I paid out of pocket and it’s extremely affordable! I’m a single mom who also works full time and they worked with my schedule for me to come in get my exam and get contacts and glasses. They stayed later than usual just for me as well. Will be back and will be getting my glasses AND contacts from them instead of online because pricing is about the same and I don’t have to wait for them to come in the mail. Love love love it and recommending to everyone.

Closed location. Hasnt been open in months since trying to get an appointment here. HEB Employees have said they have not even seen it open

My experience was not pleasant, was given a wrong prescription and never followed up with. Had to go to different Dr to have new eye exam and new contacts. Her assistant was very impersonal and difficult for a mistake they made.

Doctor Zia is very knowledgeable and pleasant. I would recommend her to anyone.

Houston Vision Center (inside HEB) is a one stop shop. I was able to get some groceries and my eyes checked the same day. I received excellent customer service and a great deal on new frames. The doctor is great as well.

Great experience here! Dr. Somaira was super nice and quick in getting my eye exam done. Really accommodating when it came to making an appointment too, I was called immediately and told earlier appointments available. Will be recommending her to my friends/family for sure!

I visited Dr Zia for my daughter's eye exam on Saturday and found she is not only knowledgeable but also caring and friendly. She was really patient with my daughter and explained her and made her comfortable before checking her eyes out!! I would recommend her for anyone who needs help. Great Eye Doctor. She really took her time and made sure I understood all my choices. Prescribed some multifocal lenses that actually replaced my bifocals :) Would highly recommend Dr. Zia.

My wife and I did the eye test and got our glasses from here. Dr. Zia was very knowledgeable and provided us with good advise on the the type of glasses that we needed. It was a much better experience than other high end retailers where the just tell you to get this or that without explaining the different options you have. Two thumbs up for great customer service.

If I could give this Doctor ZERO stars I would. Absolutely unprofessional. My husband questioned her staff before his appointment if there were going to be any impending fees associated with his visit and he was assured that all the costs were covered by his insurance. When my husband returned for his second visit to pick up his contact lenses, Dr. Zia, at this point, informed him that he owed a “contact lense fitting fee”. And that she would not release neither the prescription nor the contacts without him paying the fee. My husband also had a bad eye infection that she refused to see him for, stating the following “if I take a look at your eye I will have to charge you another exam fee”. This doctor is just a money hungry individual and cares nothing for her patients. She called my husband’s phone FOUR times only to leave condescending messages saying that we misunderstood and that we were the ones in error. When I returned her phone call she wouldn’t stop yelling in my ear! She won’t let you get a word in, I had to record our conversation (letting her know I was doing so), because I knew it is very likely she will deny every word she said. She hung up in my face shortly after I informed her I was recording our conversation - while not allowing me to say anything over her yelling. She completely denies ANY wrong doing and refuses to be slow to speak and come to some type of resolution. I informed her that I would be contacting BBB and filing complaints various in nature and she challenged me with “oh please go ahead”. Dr. Zia has exhausted my husband’s yearly eye exam and now refuses to release his prescription, obligating us to either have to pay out of pocket for another exam or pay her to release the prescription. We REFUSE to give this doctor even one penny after her indecent behavior and shady practices. Ridiculous. I will make sure I steer all of my family, friends, and neighbors, away from this practice. The WORST experience we have ever had. And we will be following up with complaints and possibly a lawsuit if she continues to refuse to release my husband’s prescription. Awful practice and unprofessional irate so called “doctor”. For those of you reading this review, I can guarantee either she or her staff will respond to this review with a rebuttal or denial of some or many sorts. That will not deter me from sharing my experience from a TRUTHFUL account, unlike the “cover up” this staff and doctor will likely respond with. I also question the validity of the rest of the “reviews” on google from these other “patients”... I will let those of you reading this review (and the other previous “reviews”) come to your own conclusion. UPDATE: To make matters worse, I called our insurance company today (July 26, 2018) and verified that Dr. Zia and her office had been paid IN FULL for all charges INCLUDING the alleged “contact lenses fitting fee” back in May 2018 (during my husband’s initial visit at Dr. Zia’s office) that Dr. Zia claimed with absolute certainty that we owed her!! All in all, Dr. Zia held my husband’s prescription hostage for almost a month from June 29-July 26, on claims that were completely false. Seems to me she only had one thing in mind and it certainly wasn’t the interest of her patient(s). Her office finally released the prescription to my husband today July 26, 2018. After my husband had to go without permanent eyewear for almost a month for no reason at all. We are so highly upset with this doctor’s unethical conduct. Potential patients BEWARE of this Optometrist and her practice!
