Dr. James Umlas is a glaucoma specialist at Lexington Eye Associates, serving the greater Boston area. He provides general ophthalmology, cataract surgery, complex cataract surgery for patients with co-morbid conditions, and medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma.

Dr. Umlas joined Lexington Eye Associates in 1999. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Tufts New England Eye Center in 1995 and fellowship training in glaucoma at Washington University in St. Louis. He is board certified in Ophthalmology and fluent in Spanish.

Dr Umlas is an incredibly skilled physician and surgeon. Despite his busy schedule, patients never feel rushed with him and he is able to explain complicated eye conditions to the non technical person in a calm and reassuring manner. A man with cutting edge skills and old school compassion!
