On November 15th I had an appointment at 2:00. I left my home 15 minutes away at 1:30, and encountered extremely heavy traffic. I called the office at 1:45 and informed them of the situation and told them I thought I would be late. The associate told me I would be okay if I could arrive by 2:15. I managed to navigate around traffic by driving nearly to Meridian and then back into downtown Nampa breaking countless traffic laws in the process. I arrived at the office at exactly 2:09, and at the same time the office called and canceled my appointment. They said, that since I was in the parking lot, I could come in and fill out the paper and be ready for the rescheduled appointment. No thank you. I'm in extremely poor health. It takes considerable preparation and effort for me to attend appointments of any type. It's pathetic that an eye appointment is a significant event in my life, but that is the reality. I have to commit my entire day to appointment and it requires all my energy. It's not that the appointment was canceled. It's being told it was going to be fine if I was a little delayed, and then having it canceled as I was presently at the office after driving break-neck across the valley. The associate who canceled my appointment was rude, and should not be working in a customer service capacity with their attitude. Update: The response below is dishonest and not an accurate reflection of what occurred. My appointment was at 2:00. I arrived in the parking lot of the office at exactly 2:09, and this is when they called and canceled my appointment. I never entered the clinic, did not check-in at 2:25, and most definitely was not an hour late for my appointment.

Very friendly professionals. Dr. Jensen took her time with me to ask questions and answer my questions.

Cristina is a very pleasant person and is very good at explaining what is going on while you go and I appreciate her very much.

i went in for an exam , my appointment was at 1:45, i wasn’t called back till 2:10 ish . everyone was very nice but the doctor didn’t come in until 2:56 pm. that’s really my only complaint is that i waited for so long . everyone was incredibly nice and knowledgeable! and i got my glasses very fast ! has my appointment october 28th got my glasses like november 6th!

Awesome experience! The staff is friendly and nice. Dr. John Lamers is not rushed and takes time and care to make sure that you are getting the best care they can provide to help you see. He was the first Doctor who correctly diagnosed an issue with my wife's eyes in 3 states, this after previously mis diagnosis by 2 retina specialists and several eye clinics! You can trust the care and service received at this clinic. They don't rush you through like cattle to slaughter.

I am a disabled veteran and I choose to see Dr Lamers instead of the VA eye doctor. He is great and very knowledgeable and is a great listener. The rest of the staff is great and very helpful. I would highly recommend them for your family's eye care.

I am beyond impressed with Dr.Lamers and his team! I went in for a new patient exam and was brought back by Haley. She did an amazing job answering all questions I had and made me so comfortable. Dr. Lamers came in as soon as Haley finished with her portion and began my exam. He was kind, thorough and listened to all of my concerns very attentively. I have never felt so comfortable and heard during an exam! I can’t recommend this office enough!

I made an appointment for myself and my daughter several weeks ago. My daughter had a 1:15 appointment and I had a 1:45 appointment. They sent me an appointment reminder and put both appointments in my google calendar but when I arrived they said my daughter only had an appointment and they couldn’t see me until after the new year. They were unconcerned and acted like it wasn’t a bid deal although I had this appointment for over a month and I needed new contact before I traveled, plus, my benefits started over with the new year. Finally they said another Dr. could see me, but wanted to use my medical insurance instead of my VSP insurance, I asked why and didn’t get a clear answer and found out my copayment is $40 instead of $20. That seemed underhanded too. Terrible customer service, then I went to their website to leave a review and it had been hacked and they were not even aware of it until I informed them.

I’ve been through two sets of trial contact lenses and they arrived fairly quickly. Unfortunately I was needing to get another set of trials as the last 2 pairs weren’t working out. This 3rd pair of trial lenses were supposed to be ordered weeks ago. I’ve tried calling multiple times. The first call I spoke with someone after a couple weeks of not hearing back and they said they would get them ordered. It has been a few more weeks since that phone call. I have called multiple times and everytime I speak to someone I get told there’s no one in the optical department for the day. Highly considering finding another eye doctor again because this has been the most irritating experience I have ever had with an office.

Dr. Lamers is wonderful! I’ve been seeing him since he came to Jensen’s and I have always appreciated the level of care he provides my family, but he went above and beyond this week. I was calling to schedule an appointment next week, knowing it was the day before Thanksgiving, but because my call was due to recurring shingles affecting my eye, he insisted I come in that afternoon—despite his imminent plans to leave town for the holiday. And despite those plans, he did not rush through the exam and was very thorough in assessing my eye and vision. I simply cannot thank him enough or recommend him highly enough for your family’s optic care. My husband and daughter agree too!

Dr. John Lamers is fantastic! He takes all the time necessary to fully examine, diagnose, and explain. He's very serious about helping his patients, and I will never go elsewhere for eye care because Dr. Lamers doesn't sell glasses - he cares for patients.

My daughter had an appointment at 10:00am. We arrived at 9:45 as instructed. While we sat waiting, there were 5 other patients who had appointments after her that were called back before her. After waiting for over an hour, I made an appointment at another doctor’s office while in their lobby and walked to the counter to cancel her appointment. There was no apology, just the excuse that they were waiting for a room. There were rooms for people with a 10:30 and 10:45 appointment, so why not a 10:00 appointment? The staff was not at all concerned with the horrid service. I will never recommend this office and would suggest you find somewhere else to go. **Her appointment was never at 11:00am. Her original appointment was at 10:45am and was change by staff to 10:00am. When we arrived at 9:45, staff confirmed her 10:00 appointment.**

I've been going here since the mid-seventies. It is great. Dr. Jensen goes above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of. On my last visit I had the technician Renee, she is very happy and pleasant. She makes the exam very comfortable. I highly recommend them for any vision needs.

I have been going to Dr Lamers for roughly 15 years. I have stayed because I feel he’s more thorough and personable than others I’ve seen over prior years. Always going over and beyond to get the results you’re hoping for. Staff is so friendly and helpful. Would strongly recommend Dr Lamers at Jensen eye associates!

Dr Lamer's is professional and kind. He saw something two other doctors in two different states did not see. He had a retina doctor confirm his find. I am thankful that Dr Lamer's listens to me and answers my questions.

I've been seeing Dr. Johanna multiple times a year. She is thorough, always explains what she's doing, and the results of her findings. She compares the present with the past, asks if you understand and invites questions. She's the best of what a specialist should be.

So thankful for Dr. Lamers. Even though I’ve moved out of state, I returned for an eye exam because he’s such a great optometrist. I’ve had issues all my life with eye exams that were unpleasant. He takes his time, is very thorough and explains everything he’s doing. It reduces my anxiety and I know my new prescription will be perfect.

Dr Lamar’s has always been very helpful and goes above and beyond care. We have seen Dr Lamar’s for several years. I went in for my exam and to get my glasses they were great. I would especially like to remark about the young woman named Taylor. She was so helpful, she helped me with all the aspects of picking out my new glasses. She was extremely patient and let me choose what I needed. I would recommend Taylor to help you.

I had my first appointment yesterday with Dr. Lamers and thoroughly enjoyed meeting him and the entire staff. I love the fact that this is a SMALL clinic without a crowded waiting room. I dread eye appointments but the entire Jensen Eye Clinic staff worked to put me at ease, explain everything and make it as pleasant as possible. The optician listened to what I wanted in frames and promptly found three possible frames that met my criteria. Dr. Lamers explained his philosophy of 20/happy, meaning if I don't feel ready for cataract surgery, he's good with that. I recommend this clinic, even though it is a bit out of the way for me (I live in Ada County).
