I went to get my glasses fixed by Kasia, she was very sweet and got it done very fast. I’m so happy that she made it work for me and I definitely will be sticking with her.

Frame glasses isn't very cheap

The worst office you can go to. They will take money away for you, last year I had ordered a yearly supply of contacts and had no issue receiving the rebate because it was my first time ordering contacts with them. A couple months ago I came in to order more contacts but the workers working the front obviously did not have the correct information when it came to rebate, I had ordered a 6 month supply of contacts and requested a rebate but turns out you have to be consistent with the purchase of your contacts in order to receive the rebate I even made sure with them and they said I would receive the rebate but of course that didn't happen. The guy who works the front is useless and provides no help, he was the one who assured me that I would receieve the rebate and even after complaining to them he tries calling the company for my contacts but they even rejected his request for a rebate, his attitude is also awful. I lost money because they lacked knowledge and provided 0 help, they say theyll call you back and never. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION.

Great customer service!! I have been a very happy customer of Jewel Optical for over 8 years. With the assistance of David and their amazing staff every frame I get fits my face and style perfectly and most importantly the lenses are always well made. My whole family gets their eye care needs from Jewel Optical and highly recommend going here.

This place is up the block from where I work; which is why I chose to make an appointment. However I was more than pleasantly surprised at the level of service I received, from Adam at the front; the optometrist (Dr. Ewald) took her time with me to make sure that my prescription was as good as it could be, and made sure that I didn't leave there without making sure that I could see properly with them in. She even told me to come back the following week to make sure that I was happy with the progressive prescription, and if I wasn't she'd make adjustments for me. Never have I received this level of service from an optometrist's office. The reason that prompted me to make this review other than the level of service was the fact that this AM I just couldn't see properly with my new contacts; I was actually distraught and afraid something was really wrong with my eyes. So I call them, told them that I couldn't see properly and I was afraid something was wrong with my eyes; Adam tells me "come right away the doctor is here". I run over, and its Dr. Schwartz this time and with all genuine concern reexamined my eyes, and come to find out the lenses were just very dirty because I didn't put them on before I put lotion on in the morning. She replaced the pair I was wearing, told me to be more careful, and then asked me to let the men at the front what happened because she said they had been very concerned about me from the moment I called. I've been wearing glasses and contacts since I was 13, am now 45, and I can with all honesty say I've never been taken care of as well as I've been taken care of at Jewel Optical.

I'm waiting almost 6 weeks now for a pair of glasses. This place is unbelievably terrible, horrible customer service on the phone.

This place will rob you for every penny that you have if you don’t speak up or do your research before purchasing any sort of frames or lances. THIS PLACE WILL CHARGE YOU $50 just for the DMV vision report where other places is normally around $10. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!!! I advice anyone who wants to get new frames or lenses to not come here at all THESE PEOPLE WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU.

A Truly Wonderful Experience. My contacts were shipped on time and I was greeted so well I entered and I love doing business here as they always care for there customers. They also have a tremendous hospitality feel to them that I like as someone that wears contacts and likes the places that give me the best care. If I could give them ten stars out of five I would. Best Contacts Place I’ve Been Too Hands Down!

I cannot understand what the doctor said. But they give me the best services. Very friendly and nice. Eye examer is very professional.

The staff is nice. However, they are pricey $$$$. Be very mindful of how you order your glasses , ask a ton of questions. See what your union covers what they take off. Cause you're going to pay.

I bought glasses from here for $400 and I thought with 400 I could get a decent pair of glasses but apparently not. These glasses are the worst quality and break with the simplest of wear. I don’t wear my glasses to play sports or anything yet they still somehow broke from putting it on and off somehow which goes to show the terrible quality. There is this one hinge that keeps on breaking and it isn’t even screwed on it’s glued on. I went and told the workers there about it and they insisted it was my fault. What type of glasses can’t take the wear and tear or taking them on and off ? They insisted it was good brand and I had done something to break them. They did replace it however I don’t understand how they charge me $400 for glasses which can’t stand simple wear and tear

This place is horrible david is very nasty rude and disrespectful they dont have any knowledge and everyone says different things , they will do anything for a sale and wont give you your money back very poor customer service .They will overcharge you and not even explain what your paying for . They lied about my health insurance not covering my frames & only giving me a $50 discount when i have full coverage . This place is horrible !

I was charged about $400 for a pair of Hugo Boss frames with lenses. I realized months later from pictures and such that all the guy did was snip off the arms of my old glasses, put in the new lenses that my insurance covered, and connected my old frame to Hugo Boss arms. Plastic arms at that. They are cheats and unfortunately it’s too late for me so be forewarned.

Do not I quote patronize with Jewel Optical. Crooks. They will rob you blind. Been going to Cohen's for years never paid more than 400.00 for both my lens and my husband's lens together. I have progressive and my husband wears bifocals without the line and transition. He went in for an exam and left out owing 576.00 and brought his own frames. Unbelievable. They are trying to rob the working to cover what Medicare and Medicare won't pay.

DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT OTHER PERSON IS TALKING ABOUT BUT THE GREATEST SERVICES ME AND MY FAMILY HAVE EVER RECEIVED!! SUPER RESPECTFUL AND HELPFUL. Nice to have 2016 update: love this place never been to a better optical!!!! Update 2024: Just came in with my whole family. Super respectful and great patience. It’s always a pleasure

Such a great optical! Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I previously bought glasses online and always had problems, since switching to Jewel optical my headaches are gone and I see much clearer. And they do adjustments for the glasses for free!! My glasses always slip off my face so it’s nice to go and get them fixed when I need.

Will never go here again, have good insurance. Bought my own frames in, charged me 450 bucks they said that was with insurance, checked my insurance never put claim in, wanted pink tints came out red. Glasses sit on TV stand will never wear them. $450 bucks to learn never to go here

These people are horrible if I can give the zero start I would, they charge my insurance for contacts lens when I don't wear contacts lens I wear regular glasses, don't recommend them never again.

This place stole 2600 from my HRA account 8 months ago and still they claim they never received the money. The CYC people told him that he had to issue a refund which he never did. See you in court JO

Had a worse experience there. They doesn't want to help you unless you want to spend money from your pocket. Don't go there. Also over priced with everything. I should have believed the other bad reviews and not go there at all!!

Paid $600 for glasses. My friends called me insane.

Scam location. They ordered glasses for me and told me it will be a 2 week wait. So I waited 2 weeks and called them, they said my insurance is slow so it will be another week. A week passes and I call again, they have the same excuse. So I call my insurance and its a long wait, my insurance says theres no order at all for glasses. So this location is basically lying. After a month and a half, I finally received my glasses. So I had to go 1 month and a half without essential eye care. This was awhile ago, recently I went to another eye doctor and ordered glasses, it only took a week and a half to come in (same insurance).

I have been going to jewel Optical since the late 70's. I no longer live in the area, but continue to go. David and his staff are great.
