I've been going here for as long as I can remember, the staff are great, I don't understand the large amount of Negative reviews

Moving to the west end we decided to go to a different eye doctor. Tried Dr. Kautz and will not be going back. He rushed through the appointments and he is very rude. Told my husband that he can’t drive anymore because he couldn’t see right. I knew that wasn’t true. It was my husband’s lack of English that made it hard for him to understand Kautz. Went to a different eye doctor and he said my husband’s eye sight was good. Kautz has no bed side manner. Just rude! Don’t go if you have any kind of disability. And his office is like a revolving door. We have Never had an eye appointment be done in 15 minutes. I would never recommend him or that office. He needs to retire already!

By far one of the best experiences that I have ever had with an optometrist. I ripped my only contact lens and needed to get in somewhere in a hurry. Dr Kautz was able to see me the same morning. I left his office a half hour later with lens prescription in hand. I have terrible eye doctor anxiety related to some horrific past experiences, but Dr Kautz was awesome. He explained everything that he was doing and the reasoning behind it. The office was clean and modern. The staff was very friendly.

I am honestly not sure why there are so many one star reviews here! I called and made an appointment. I expected like everywhere else to be told I couldn’t be seen for 2/3 weeks. They got me in next day. They were running a little late, not a huge deal. They told me right when I showed up they were running behind. The receptionist and doctor both seemed nice! They were polite. The doctor had a sense of humor. I think some people who wrote these reviews are to sensitive, he is an old school doctor. He worked fast and efficient ( maybe that’s what feels rushed to others). He did his job and he did it well, he’s not here to be your best friend, so don’t expect that type of service here. I will definitely be returning.

Dr. Kautz took great care of my optical needs. Very pleased he accepted Humana insurance

My wife hated dealing with this office, super disappointed. Dr Kautz and their receptionist both need classes on how to work with people. Who would have thought, treating your clients with respect and compassion is valued in a business? All of the reviews on here speak for themselves, look elsewhere for eye care.

I love Dr Kautz and his staff! They are wonderful! I had a kitchen accident with a foil bag of croutons right in the eye! Nice big scratch! Thanks to the doctor my eye is healed with no permanent damage! They got me right in and took care of my eye! I also get my glasses from here! I highly recommend! Thank you Dr Kautz and staff!

Was billed for contacts I never ordered and then they turned me over to a collection agency.

Sent here by the VA. Had great conversations with the staff. The eye exam was quite thorough, efficient and knowledgeable. They explained every machine, every test and how each effects you before every one. They explained the results and I was surprised to get information that no one had picked up on before. Thumbs up! Will suggest this office to others.

Both me an my 12 year old son had appointments the same day. He picked on my son cause he kept getting his d an b wrong. Said that my son needed to practice with flash cards an kept rubbing it in. Put both of us in bifocals. Picked up my sons glasses first an he could not wear them cause they gave him a headache an where 2 strong. Was cleaning them that night an noticed chip marks all over the lenses. I picked up mine an tried them on an felt an instant headache. Was cleaning them on the way home an noticed a huge chip mark in mine also. Why weren't they looked over when they got them in?. Worst place ever

Went to Dr Kautz 2x. The first being a great experience. The second was not. He added prism to my prescription that I did not need and after I filled my prescription and got the new glasses he refused to fix the problem. I went somewhere else and got it fixed with no issues. Kautz is rude and has the worst “bedside” manner. Won’t go back

Place is great, my husband used his VA coverage, not a large selection on frames.. but found one perfect for him. It takes 8 weeks, but fully paid for by VA. Glasses came yesterday and they fit and feel great

This is my second exam.I live 200 miles away and the drive is well worth it! You will get a very thorough and comprehensive examination. Im also very happy with my new glasses that the receptionist help me choose.
