Tried to get a firm price on the surgery for both eyes, they run you around from one person to the next, with hidden costs revealed, they give you a vinyl $10 bag from China with five dollar sunglasses, the place is a scam everything is extra, I left not interested in the scam. I went to Austin Eye with Dr. Wong he did both eyes for me one at a time of course ,it’s a big beautiful place they own and control their own surgical area, on the second floor everything is spotless in a very modern building with modern equipment. Lake Austin Eye has dated equipment and I believe they leased the space for the surgery because it’s at another location . I don’t believe they own the surgical place. Why would anybody go to Lake Austin Eye when you could go to the pros at Austin Eye. Lake Austin Eye billed my credit card over $260 for a bag of junk from China we’re all of $15. I’m contesting the charge as I’m leaving this review. Again before you make a decision , it’s so important to protect your eyesight by doing your due diligence — just go online and look at the facility at Austin Eye, comparing it to Lake Austin Eye. Do your homework before you get bamboozled like I did but it’s not over yet. I’m retired, I have time to take them to court.

All it took for them to discharge me without notice (cancelling four surgeries in a few days) was that I asked for an itemized invoice of a lense that cost $3600 not covered by insurance . They insinuated I was dumb for making the same questions multiple times and me asking for said invoice was equated as I’m broke and undeserving of their services. They must have so many rich seniors slapping their credit card no questions asked that my insurance paying $30,000 for the surgeries was loose change that doesn’t justify getting exposed from whatever they’re doing

The Dr. Was pleasant and the lady helping her was great! The issue comes with the logistics of the front office. I tried to reschedule my surgery one full month before the date and they insisted they need to charge me $350. When I asked about the logic behind it the lady didn't know so I had to speak to the manager. The manager had a very generic answer. She basically said there is "a lot of paperwork that's needed". I asked her how changing the appointment date would change that paperwork and she couldn't answer. I told them I won't be a patient there anymore. I hope the Dr. Realizes how this comes across to patients as very poor customer service. I understand if I changed the surgery two days in advance, but I gave you a month notice.
