Ritu W I recently visited [Optical Store Name] and had an outstanding experience! From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. The store itself is bright, clean, and well-organized, making it easy to browse their extensive selection of frames. The optometrist was thorough and patient during my eye exam, explaining each step clearly. The team took the time to help me choose the perfect pair of glasses, considering both my style preferences and budget. I never felt rushed or pressured.

The unprofessionalism I faced on 06/17/2022 was unreal. The individual who was working in the front desk turned away business. I was in dire need of new contact prescription ASAP. I had my insurance card.. was also even able to pay cash if necessary. Do yourself a favor, take your business elsewhere.

The doctor is very friendly but the store owner only want to rip your money. I booked an eye exam and he asked for my insurance. I said my insurance and he said ok we accepted that. I came to the store; he checked my insurance and said free eye exam; free basic len and 120 Off the frame. I said great. After the eye exam; he gave me a quote for a rayban which is 400$ (with my insurance). I said that is too expensive for me; can I have the prescription please? He said no I can not get it; I have to buy an eyeglass in order to get the prescription. I said no; that is ridiculous; I only booked for the eye exam. In the end I wasted 2 hours there without getting my prescription.

Horrible service. They gave me a bad glass and the frame was flimsy. The owner was trying to get me buy an expensive one. But when I collected my prescription glasses, it was the wrong power. He insisted that it was what it was and if I wanted better, I should buy an expensive one. Never go to this creep. He is a thief, a crook.

Scam! I have never, ever written a 1 star review on any business until now. These guys used every shady sales tactic in the book. They inflate their prices, hold your prescription hostage, say they're giving you more than your insurance reimburses for frames/lenses as an act of "earning your business"..and other tricks. After researching the cost of the frames I bought from an authorized vendor I was sick to my stomach. His mark up from the retail price was more than 500% even after all of the "discounts" he gave me to earn my trust. When I returned and pushed back the owner went from friendly from to defensive, loud and accusatory in an instant. I put a block on my credit card because I could not trust that he would have done something shady. Truly the worst shopping experience I've ever had. I am writing this post as an act of service. DO NOT GO HERE.

Amazing service. The doctor is super friendly and funny. He made me feel like a life long friend. He explained everything before hand to put me at ease. And the same goes for Julia at the counter. She took her time explaining plans and prices even though there was other customers waiting. This was ten and above.

My family and I are pleased with the outstanding service the Laxmi Optical’s owner and staff gave to us. We have visited various shops in the neighborhood but were disappointed with the poor customer service skills their staff gave to their customers. At Laxmi, they were kind, patient, respectful and most importantly professionals. The optometrist todo the time to make sure we got the right prescriptions. We are deeply grateful to Bobby and Miriam for helping us to get the best eyewear and gave amazing tips to take care of our eyes. Highly recommended!

⭐☆☆☆☆ (1 Star) Extremely disappointing experience. My fiancé was overcharged for her glasses and contacts, and the office failed to properly submit the insurance claim. When we brought the issue to their attention, instead of taking accountability and resolving it professionally, they became very defensive. I personally had to go in myself just to get the refund processed, which never should have been necessary in the first place. After reading other reviews, it seems we are not the only ones who have had billing and customer service issues here. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend being very cautious, double-checking all charges, and exploring other options before coming here. We will not be returning.

I agree with Sandra. The guy is a crook and his frames and glasses are substandard. Do not ever go to this place or you will repent. By the way, the other 2 five star reviews are posted by this place. If you notice, the language is the same! Self advertising crook! So do not read into those 5 stars.

During my eye exam at Laxmi American Optical the eye doctor informed me that my vision was excellent, with my right eye at 20/15 and left eye at 20/20. Despite acknowledging the clarity of my vision and praising it, the doctor prescribed progressive lenses due to my age being over 40. I expressed concerns that the prescription was causing blurriness and discomfort, affecting my ability to see clearly. I communicated that the prescription seemed unnecessary and harmful to my eyes, especially since I don't typically wear glasses. Despite voicing my feedback, the staff requested my old prescription for reading glasses, which I do not use but provided them with and they confirmed it's only for reading which I had already explained, even though I do not wear my old glasses because I see fine. This situation led me to believe that using age as a basis to fraudulently prescribe expensive and unnecessary lenses is unethical and potentially fraudulent. When I insisted on seeking accountability by requesting the doctor's name for further actions with my insurance company, the Better Business Bureau, and relevant health regulatory bodies, the staff refused to disclose this information. This lack of transparency raised suspicions, as multiple insurance representatives questioned the secrecy surrounding the doctor's identity, especially when he had prescribed lenses to me with "perfect vision", his exact words. He then suggested that my employer provide a magnifying screen instead of relying on the prescribed lenses further emphasized the questionable nature of the prescription. The subsequent out-of-pocket expense of $845 and the resistance towards addressing my concerns about the necessity of the prescription further deepened my unease. The doctor offering to provide a "correct" prescription after the fact only reinforced the belief that fraudulent practices are at play within the optical establishment because if the prescription he provided was deemed the right one, why is he telling me he will offer to provide the correct and new prescription? Ageism constitutes discrimination and is considered illegal. Despite two consistent eye exams showing my vision is 20/15 and 20/20, the individual (Marcos was all I could find online - the eye doctor or person who performed my eye exam) in question insisted on prescribing progressive lenses, implying that being over 40 automatically necessitates the use of glasses. However, it is evident that individuals of various ages may or may not require glasses, exemplified by both young children and senior citizens who do not wear them. Having diligently visited eye doctors annually without ever being informed of any vision impairments, it is perplexing that the this doctor prescribed corrective lenses, which will harm my perfect vision. Upon attempting to address this issue, the response from the involved parties turned hostile and lacked transparency, evident in their deceptive practices of overcharging and providing incorrect information while withholding their identities. Seeking additional professional opinions confirmed the detrimental effects of the prescription on my eyes, reinforcing the unethical behavior of the optical business aiming solely at profit. Refusal to disclose their identities, evasion of truthful communication, and coercive tactics further highlight the unethical nature of their operations. The disregard for customer well-being, coupled with misleading practices for monetary gain, emphasizes the illegality and deceitfulness of Laxmi American Optical. It is essential for individuals to conduct thorough research and read reviews before going to Laxmi American Optical. They took my insurance even before I saw the doctor and I had to pay $845 out of pocket because and I quote "you have perfect vision, you can see the letters under 20/15 and 20/20. When I need Information from them they suddenly stopped speaking English and communicated in Spanish then refused to provide the name of the individual.
